Living in Salt Lake City apartments has its advantages, but with a Wheeler Historic Park apartment, you have the beauty of the Salt Lake Valley surrounding you. Residents of Wheeler Historic Park apartments will certainly appreciate their Salt Lake City apartment when they compare it to the lifestyle and living conditions of the late 1800's on which the park is based. Here, you can see and feel what it was like to live on a dairy farm during that time. When you arrive at the park, you may ride behind a tractor (not so late 19th century) through the beautiful grounds which covers 75 aces and a former full-working farm. The farm was purchased by the State of Utah in 1969 and was made a national park in 1976 to celebrate the Bicentennial of the U.S. After the hay trailer ride, you may get on your haunches and actually milk a cow! Other animals such as goats, horses and chickens wander the lush wetlands of the park where "residents" are dressed in the clothes of the day, cooking their meals on wood stoves and shoeing their horses in the barn. It's a classroom in itself, with young and old Wheeler Historic Park apartment residents learning here, at the two main parts of the park, the house with historic furniture and the animals. The park is open dawn to dusk every day of the year, with office hours 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday. You can tour the park with groups of friends or parents from your Salt Lake City apartments, or show up by yourself. Tours begin at 10 am and continue through the day and each lasts about an hour.
