Los Angeles is full of famous landmarks for any apartment resident to discover, but perhaps none of the famous locales in the city are quite as fun as the Santa Monica Pier. Whether you want to take in Southern California's gorgeous beaches, take some time fishing or boating, or have a fun time at their amusement park, there's always plenty to do on the pier. You can't really call yourself an Angelino until you've been to the pier. It's a must-see for any Californian. The pier was founded almost one hundred years ago, and the crowds have just kept coming even to this day. Part of its magnetism is its fantastic scenery, the lights and magic of the piers itself with the beautiful beaches behind, you'd have to try hard to find a more beautiful spot in all of Los Angeles. You're also never left with nothing to do, since there are so many attractions, special events, and even movie screenings at the pier. It's everything you might want to do for your afternoon, all located in one location. One of the main draws of the pier is Pacific Park, it's large, family-oriented amusement park. There are a dozen different rides to take in, as well as plenty of fun in store at the midway, and even has a miniature golf course. One of the most famous attractions here is the Pacific Wheel, the world's first and only solar-powered Ferris Wheel. There are also a number of roller coasters and other thrill rides for the adults, with wholesome, less frightening rides for the kids. Pacific Park is one section of the pier that roller coaster fans won't want to pass up. The pier has something for just about everybody, so if you're an apartment-ite looking for a terrific way to kill some time on a warm Los Angeles afternoon, you can't do much better than the Santa Monica Pier.
