STAY AWAY!! BEAWARE of Academy $65 fees

It's called Academy 65 because they will give you $65 fees when you move out. Keep in mind there is no parking available for you, yes they have a garage that only holds a few dozen cars but once a resident has parking.. they aren't giving it up which i understand but that leaves you to park in the alley, along side-walks around the block. I guarantee you if you have a car you will get many $50+ parking tickets over and over. I would only recommend this apartment only if you don't have a car. If ...

you don't have a car and you walk, take the bus, scooter, bike, carpool/uber then this place is for you. This place will charge you fees and will find anything to charge you a fee to make money for them. So be ready to email their office to complain about the fees.

Very bad management

The management will charge whatever they want and will give as much as move out fees as they can that are totally unreasonable but you have no saying in it as a tenant. Manager is very backwards. I called and talked with them and they work very backward. No help whatsoever from the management.

Insane move out fees

They charge so many move out fees that are obnoxious and you have to pay nearly an extra month of rent after you move out. Place is not good, thin walls you can hear everything. Parking situation is awful. Don’t lease at this place.

Academy 65 has been my home for nearly 3 years. Within this time, I have faced many challenges which have made me rethink moving in. Things like noise level, untidiness/dirt, and the smell of cigarette smoke/marijuana within my apartment have made some of my experience at Academy 65, unpleasant. On the flip side, things have begun to improve with new management. The new management team has incorporated great activities for tenants to enjoy for example; movie nights, bingo, free breakfast, and ...

games. The community is more quiet. There have been newsletters that have informed tenants of the non-smoking policy and as a result, I smell less smoke and seen less dirt. Overall, I am content with my choice to stay at Academy 65 and would recommend it to students.
