Let me start off by saying this is my first apartment and the ladies in the office has been so amazing and patient with me especially crystal. The neighborhood is quiet. If i have an issue inside my apartment the maintenance guys are quick to fix it. I love it here

I had to come back to amend my earlier review because this apartment complex is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!! I have never had such a poor rental experience in my entire life. Maintenance and management are a joke. I am now dealing with a gaping hole with water coming out of it, in the ceiling above my tub and had to deal with it all weekend!! I have gaps under and around my door. I walk up to trash in front of my door and window because the children upstairs keep throwing it out of a window. I ...
complained about this before when I first moved out here, and it still happens. I feel I have consigned myself to a nightmare for the next year, but I had to come back and edit this review. If I could give them ZERO STARS I would, but I guess they can have the one star for the lady who helped with the application, because she was kind and understanding of the long-term domestic situation I was getting out of. However, I feel I was rushed into a subpar unit just to fill some sort of vacancy quota and I had to warn others. Unless you don't have any other choices, DO NOT LIVE IN THIS COMMUNITY!!!!! Save yourself the headache. I will be moving somewhere else at my EARLIEST opportunity.

I just wanted to say I have loved Brittney from the very beginning she is super sweet, very informative, understanding, she was very helpful getting us in to our new apartment in the beginning and at first it was gonna take a little longer than originally planned to get in but she kept us in the loop the WHOLE time and we ended up getting in earlier. Que is another whom I love that is very pleasant to talk to. Ordered a washer and dryer, and it was delivered fairly quick and they are nice. The 3 ...
bedroom is very spacious and up to date, the complex is pretty quiet for the most part, If I have had a maintenance issue it gets resolved. Management is VERY nice. Don’t bother to call by the listing

We called to view the 3 bdrm and had an appointment for the same day it listed. In fact, made the appointment for within 45 min outed or the call. We got there only to find out there were no 3 bdrm available and no communication between the property office and the leasing agents who answer these listings. Waste of time and gas.

We feel unsafe to even leave our apartment after the sun goes down. We hear gunshots on a regular basis at night. Police have responded multiple times, but are unable to find the perpetrators. One time we were coming home just before 10pm and as we approached our apartment door, there were about 8 gunshots in succession right across from our building. We got down on the ground on our balcony before we could get the key in the door. Cars go in and out of the apartments all through the night ...
(including 1-4am) blasting rap music with the bass shaking the walls. Also, on more than one occasion our neighbors have decided to blast music from the parking lot late at night on workdays and have random dance and twerk sessions in the parking lot. People are constantly roaming the streets of the apartments and hanging out on the side of the road. The kids and most of the tenants are loud, unsupervised, and have no respect for other residents, especially kids in the pool. Drug use is a big problem here as well. We regularly smell marijuana from our neighbors and it comes into our own home. One of the lifeguards was caught smoking marijuana in the pool bathroom with underage children while she was on duty as well. Aside from marijuana, my spouse walked down our steps outside last week and stepped on a crack needle that was left wedged in the steps pointing upwards and had to go to the emergency room. Someone was shot in the leg in broad daylight and emergency personnel flooded the entrance to the complex. On top of all this, maintenance does not do what they are supposed to do. We have had a work order in for over two months that has not yet been worked. We have talked to the office three times about this and maintenance has yet to fix the issues. Oh, and some of the maintenance staff are unprofessional as well. One of them was arrested while on duty during the daytime for participating in a group fight with tenants. These apartments are decent on the inside, and they often appear to be quiet and orderly during the day hours, but this is far from the case. I'm writing this to help other people to not get into the same situation we got into unknowingly. The office staff are very nice people, but they either choose not to, or do not have the power to, correct all of the problems of this community. If you have ANY better option, DO NOT even consider these apartments.

In the event that any resident has concerns, we encourage them to notify the management team so that these issues can be addressed or forwarded to the appropriate personnel. Several of the specific circumstances you reference were never reported to the office and therefore did not give us the ability to investigate. We have spoken with the Newport News Police Department and there have been no reports of a shooting for any address with Auburn Pointe and no incidents involving a member from the management team. We take pride in our community, and as an added means of community policy enforcement, we have a hired security company that conducts random patrols. Our security service has also confirmed that there have been no incidences involving shootings or any other illegal activities on our community.
