Next door is soul taco which gives a lot of noise pollution to the first floor. Management is also touch and go, some problems:
Gym is SEVERELY outdated and most of the equipment has been damaged or stolen. You'll get a tv which doesn't work, a treadmill that's falling apart, and a single set of 5lb dumbbells.
Access issues: like someone else mentioned the front door is either broken or the electronic entry pad is on the fritz. Management has been slow to fix this or assign temporary manual codes ...
which would fix the problem, which you think would be easy.
Package thefts: a slew of packages are stolen on a regular basis since at least November 2022. Management has yet to do anything to fix this.
In comparison, their other, more expensive property, Cedar Broad has a nice quality gym, a working secure entry, and Amazon lockers, and has been reviewed for a pool. They can't say there are budget problems when the rent from 1 rental unit in Shockoe would cover several fixes listed above, not sure if our rent money is going to the upkeep of Cedar.
