Cheap rent
August 14, 2015Well I have lived here over a year and the rent is cheap. Now to keep this in line with why it is cheap there is only a wall A/C unit that doesn't help much unless you are right under it. No dishwasher. Old plumbing. Using the laundry is $1.25/wash ($1.50 for extended cycle) and another $1.25/dry. Walls are thin as this complex has been around for a very long time. If you are lucky enough to get a 2 bedroom then you are in good shape, they burned down awhile ago and are basically brand new ...apartments up to modern code (thanks to the insurance). For all other apartments you get what you pay for. If you call and talk to the owner he is cool and will help out as he can but not too much. The apartment manager isn't much help and is well....kinda weird. He is a heavy set guy that doesn't do much but has his wife go and fix everything. I have only had a problem with bugs once and that was it. About every other month or so the drains get clogged and asking the manager for help cleaning them is no help so I just buy drain cleaner and do it myself. There is a leak on the lower end of the complex that has been bad, gallons of water everyday just goes out of the parking lot, its sad to look at and has happened so long that there is mold and moss growing of some of the parts where it leaks. The pool is always clean (always too much chlorine for anyone but needed when so many people are coming and going). The upkeep of the grounds is always nice and never over grown. My biggest fear is that the electrical outlets are getting old, as I said before some apartments were remodeled due to a fire. This fire was caused by electrical outlets that were loose and old. I have seen sparks from mine a few times and brought it up to James with no avail. On a different note being so close to Ryan park and Mt. Rubidoux is nice for being active, both are safe areas to have friends and family around. The complex is always quite, well most times, sometimes you have the couple fighting but that's to be expected anywhere you go. Electric stoves are something to get used to if you haven't used them before. Water and trash is paid by the owner and having a central water heater means you don't have to pay for gas (except heater). Pros: Cheap, quite, owner (Dan) willing to work with you if you are upfront and honest with him Cons: Older complex with many things falling apart that need to be fixed up. Apartment manager (James) needs to hire someone that can do the work needed. WATER WASTE!!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
