With a population of 105,053 people (2020) across 21 neighborhoods, the city of Jurupa Valley is California’s 69th largest community. Jurupa Valley is a “community of communities,” as locally described. It is a highly ethnically diverse and international city. Many of its residents  (27.15%) were born outside the United States. The most common language spoken in Jurupa Valley is Spanish, followed by English. The town is generally a blue-collar community with a relaxed atmosphere. The city of Jurupa Valley is in northwest Riverside County, California. It started as Rancho Jurupa. Jurupa Valley is one of the area’s earliest settlements by non-native people. It began as a Mission San Gabriel Arcángel outpost in 1838, which was permitted by a land grant from Mexico. Previously, a Native American village was located on the land, and the city’s name was derived from the original.  In 2011, voters passed a measure to incorporate and the city of Jurupa Valley was finally formally established. The town spans about 43.5 square miles and is bordered by Eastvale and Riverside as well as cities in neighboring San Bernardino County.

Jurupa Valley, California residents enjoy a warm and temperate climate. The valley area is semi-arid. Most of Jurupa Valley’s annual rainfall (avg 18.7 inches) occurs in the winter months, and there is comparatively very little rain during the summer (late June – late Sept). The average annual temperature in Jurupa Valley is 64.3 °F.
