Yes, if you move in right now you'll have to be a little patient regarding the current renovations, but the rental office is completely up front about the process so there's nothing to complain about there. I'd trade the sound of a couple saws outside for a few weeks for one month's rent free, but that's just me. You're getting in at the beginning of something pretty great if you rent here now. Plus, I'll be your kinda-neighbor, which is an extra bonus.
The place is nice. The property manager,
...Layla, is both approachable and competent. The location is perfect - you're literally 15 minutes from just about everything but still out of the way enough to not be totally disturbed by downtown-type noise. The wall color is cool and contemporary, the floors are a nice composite that looks like wood but isn't as scratchable. Appliances are all stainless steel and brand new. For the price and location, I think this apartment complex is perfect - and I have a one year old daughter, so I take location, safety, and accessibility pretty seriously.
I'll admit that the laundry rooms are kinda spooky and cement floor-y, but hey - that's ok, spooky is cool.
