This park is such a fun place to go have fun in the water and sun in the summer, and a scenic place to be walked or biked in the autumn and spring that it should be shared. It's also a super destination for cross country skiing in winter. The lake is connected to both Brownie Lake to the northeast and Lake of the Isles to the east. Three sandy beaches welcome Cedar Lake apartment sun worshipers on Cedar Point, Cedar South and East Cedar. Shore fishing is popular with anglers, and a north shore dock provides ample opportunities to catch bass, muskie and northern pike. And for the boating Minneapolis apartment dweller, a canoe launch on the west side of Cedar Lake is available, as well as kayaks and canoes for rent. Plenty of picnic tables and grills can be found at the park for those who wish to have a nice change from the Cedar Lake apartments fare with barbecued meat. There is no charge to use them, but they cannot be reserved. You may have to pay a small charge in the parking lot, unless you can find a crafty roadside spot or ride your bike from your Minneapolis apartment.
