So you've just moved into your apartment and you're looking for some funky, unique décor, such places are a little hard to come by, particularly if you're on the hunt for some seriously vintage stuff. That's where the quirkily-named Flower Child comes in. This massive, second-hand store stocks home décor items (as well as clothing, art and accessories) from the 1930s all the way up to the 1970s. Much of what's for sale is delightfully tacky, but for retro-loving apartment-ites this store is indeed a gem. As soon as you step inside you're admittedly hit with the cliché of vintage stores (a lot of gaudy, brightly-colored things that are hard to place together), and there is that unmistakably vintage scent that comes from perusing some of the larger pieces of furniture. But there's everything from couches to coffee tables, as well as a separate section dedicated entirely to home lighting, which really has to be seen to be believed. A lot of the furniture is mainly for the living room, but there are some bedroom sets also. The other departments (clothing, jewelry and art) can take hours to wander through, as there honestly is a lot of stuff for sale. But, like all vintage stores, most of the stock is just one-of-a-kind items, so if you decide you're not sure about something, it just might not be there when you come back.
