Gulf Breeze Overview

If you're an outdoor enthusiast, love nature, and want to lead a quiet life in a small suburban setting, then Gulf Breeze has everything, and more. Gulf breeze lies right at the end of the Fairpoint peninsula. There's access from Pensacola across a three-mile-long bridge over Pensacola Bay, on the northside. And to the south, the Bob Sikes Bridge reaches across Santa Rosa Sound. To the east lies the 1,329 acre Naval Live Oaks reserve.

What is the history of Gulf Breeze?

Pensacola Bay was the first settlement on the Florida panhandle, in 1559. Those early settlers abandoned the place because of hostile natives, natural disasters, and disease. Later, in the 1700s British invaded the peninsula and established Town's Point. Fast forward to the 1930s when the completion of Highway 98 gave access to the peninsula, and by 1936, the Gulf Breeze Cottages and Store opened a post office, and the quaint seaside town of Gulf Breeze was born.

How is the weather in Gulf Breeze?

It's coldest in January, with temps ranging between 46°F and 62°F from December through March. The best times of the year in Gulf Breeze are in spring from April to mid-May when the temperatures are in the 70s. And fall from September to early November when it drops back down below 80°F. The temperatures hover in the mid-80s from the end of May and peaking in July when it pushes 90°F. Summers are long, hot, and muggy.

How do I get around town?

From taxis to shuttle services, the Fairpoint peninsula has as much to offer in transportation as one could expect to find in a remote location. Check out Dream Catcher Shuttle Services if you need to get to the airport. The company also offers overnight getaways, out of town trips, cruise transfer service, and more. Additionally, Aaron's Shuttle and Taxi can help you get around the peninsula or take you to the Pensacola or Jack Edwards International airports. And. of course, you can Uber.

What is the Gulf Breeze commute like?

US-98 and Gulf Breeze PKWY is the main highway on and off the Fairpoint peninsula. It travels across Florida, from Perdido Bay to Palm Beach along the Treasure Coast, and through the Panhandle.
