This museum tells the delightful history of the steamboat Arabia. It was a successful steamboat in the 1800's that met a watery death in 1856. 135 years later the sunken contents were brought up and have been put on display in this amazing museum. Open Monday through Sunday from 10 to 5 you can easily whittle the day away in this enrapturing museum. As you gaze at the relics that were under water for 135 years thoughts pass through your head of the last human hands to hold the china plate, the last human eyes to gaze at the ornately etched mirror and the last human nose to smell the perfume in the gem adorned glass bottles. The perfume bottles that were salvaged still held the scent of its inhabitant and it has been reproduced. You can find it in the gift shop for sale with many other unique treasures and memories of the steamboat Arabia and its doomed trip in 1856. Take the day out of the apartment or come for vacation. You'll remember this excursion for years to come.
