Italian food has become so everpresent in current days that its hard for a Cincinnati apartment-ite to pick what's right. With so many options, it's also hard to choose just which is the best in town. For the best in upscale Italian eating in town, with a location just a few short miles from your Cincinnati apartment, is Boca. Sharing owners with the critically acclaimed Nada, Boca features dishes by some of the most talented chefs in the country, many of which have worked in some of the top restaurants all around the world. Nice pedigree is not all the restaurants offers, however, for it walks the walk as well as talking the talk, bringing out some of the Italian dishes the city has to offer, if not some of the best dishes in the city period. If you're looking for a fancy, romantic night out, you can do little better than Boca. The menu at Boca is not broken up into the usual appetizer-main course style, but instead invites visitors to eat in a series of three courses. For your first course, you can choose from house-cured bresalo, red wine brined and air cured with baby arugula, lemon oil and parmigiano vacca rossa, Bruschetta con Mozzarella e Accigue, garlic rubbed grilled bread with buffalo mozzarella and spinach anchovies, the Jrome Slider, with steamed onions, cheese and insalata mista, or the Diver-caught sea scallops, with brussel sprouts, in a brown butter truffle vinaigrette and parmigiano reggiano. Second Course options include linguini con cavofiorte, with cauliflower, bagna cauda, pecroino toscono and bread crumbs, butternut squash soup, with hazelnuts, chive creme fraiche and chive oil, "Boca Carbonara", egg and ricotta filled fresh pasta with house made guanciale, shallot and black pepper, or "Pappardelle cinghiale", ribbon pats with wild boar, tomato and red wine ragu, porcini mushrooms and parmesan reggiano. Moving on to the third course, you choose from grilled mediterranean loup de mer, with baby arugula, and shaved mushroom salad with lemon oil, seared South Carolina hirame with potato parsnip puree, sauteed spinach, brown butter caper sauce and lemon supremes, crisp duck confit with honey braised endive, aplina savoie polenta and red onion agro dolce, or Morrocan braised short rib, with horesradish, Swiss chard, Yukon Gold potoatoes and bordelaise. If you're looking for an even bigger feast, try the chef's grand tasting menu, a seven-course meal specially selected by the the restaurants top chefs to go perfectly together. Fans of Italian food can rejoice, because they have found their heaven on earth. Cincinnati apartment-ites looking to find great flavor and remarkable atmosphere need only take the trip down to Boca, where some of the top chefs in the nation are cooking up three courses of deliciousness hot and fresh, giving you a flavor explosion you won't soon forget.
