          I have been here for a couple of months and I have been quite disappointed living here, they do a poor job of maintaining and cleaning the property. The package room is too small for the size of the community, the packages are not where they are supposed to be and I am basically constantly looking for my packages. The back gate leading to Mill Road always seems broken and it is nearly impossible to get a maintenance request complete. If they do show up, they do half the job and say it is ...
          complete. I have put in tickets and have gone to the leasing office for maintenance requests, and they are a no show so if you are thinking of living, I would think twice before signing the lease.

          I am writing an updated review after having been a resident for a while. I can say I am 100% happy with my decision to move into Cameron Court. First, the lease signing and move-in process was amazing. Lacresha in the front office answered all my questions about the move-in process and was able to help me with some logistical issues. The entire process was very open and transparent. After signing my lease and before my move-in date, Lacresha got me access to an empty apartment so I could buy ...
          the right-size rugs, furniture, etc.—very helpful and not something that a lot of places would have done. When I wanted to add on garage space parking, she got it done. It was very clear from the beginning that the leasing staff cared about their residence and what they wanted out of their new homes. During my time here, I had some maintenance issues come up--nothing outside the ordinary from every other place I have lived. All I can say is wow. The property management staff (in particular Laura, Brian, and Lacresha) go out of their way to make sure that things are done on time and correctly. Unlike other places I have stayed, no one is taking shortcuts, and if that means something takes slightly longer to fix, it is because they are making sure it's done the correct way. They always take the time to make sure they understand any particular problem and VERY promptly follow up on any inquiries that I have. The maintenance techs themselves are very friendly and knowledgeable about the property and obviously work hard to keep the place working great. It is very clear to me that the management staff here care very much about their residences and I am just blown away by their professionalism. If there is not an immediate solution, the management staff, without exception, has always found ways to fix the issue/ make it right—this is something that I have not had the pleasure of experiencing at other properties I have lived at over the years. Regarding the property itself, I love it! I greatly enjoy my apartment. When I was looking around, I found that Cameron had the nicest (and most unique floor plans) available. The entire property is well maintained and very clean and safe. You also cannot beat the location! I have had a lot of fun making my apartment “my own” and it is very clear to me that the staff here greatly values their residences. Anyone considering a place to live near Old Town Alexandria should seriously consider Cameron!

        • Not a safe community

          I lived here twice with about 10 years in between stays. Back in 2014 this was run by Bozzuto, it was great and the the staff was pleasant. I can't say the same now. The office staff is unresponsive, slow to act, uncoordinated, and unfriendly. The maintenance staff was the only good thing about it. Also there was a shooting on the property in February, so don't think it's safe because of the gates. They share ONE code among the entire community and refuse to add residents to the callbox.

          First, the units look very nice, but the maintenance leaves much to be desired. I moved here 2 years ago, my first apartment flooded 18 inches deep due to a botched repair, getting them to make it right was a nightmare that took months, during which I was charged full freight rent for a destroyed apartment. I moved into another unit, and this one has had continued issues with the AC. I spent 3 weeks this summer with the apartment over 90 degrees inside, totally unlivable. They always promise ...
          that it will be fixed "tomorrow" and it never happens until you start babysitting them and following up every 2 hours. The flooring in my unit is starting to bubble up and the overall quality of the apartment is rapidly deteriorating. STAY AWAY

          Overall it?s a safe and secure place to live. Obviously things are always needing upkeep and the maintenance team stands out, doing their best. Minor problems keep the place from being perfect. Such as the package room, key fobs, amenities (hot tub didn?t work as of summer 2022).

          The maintenance staff is very thorough in their work, informative of the issue(s) and what they are doing to remedy the situation, and efficient in their work. The community overall is well maintained and peaceful. Quality of the amenities and buildings are overall high, and management is responsive and above average. Main issue is that parking decals (included in rent) do not seem to be enforced.
