Beautiful units. Great Location. Zero security.
April 7, 2024It really sucks to say bad things about this place because overall it's been an enjoyable experience. For context, I've been here for over a year. Yes my car has been broken into but I attribute that less to the complex and more to living adjacent to Downtown. The location is great and maintenance has been very quick and attentive. HOWEVER, safety is an absolute no here. The back gate in building one has been broken since before I moved in and it hasn't been fixed yet. The call box in Building ...1 has been broken since before I moved in and it has not been fixed. Everyone for every building has the same gate entry code including delivery drivers. My Ring has caught several of the transit population trying to and sometimes successfully breaking into storage units. The latest incident prompted me to stay else where until the broken lock was fixed. Also, for those reading reviews for context after a tour, the back of Building One shows the height of gentrification in Old East Dallas. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but I am saying they take great care of not showing that on the tour. The new management stopped accepting packages when the package lockers were full and now packages are left on the ground outside. That decision has lead to an increase in package theft. All of the cons combined is enough to not consider renewing my lease because it's simply not worth the peace of mind. I'm sure they'll find an unsuspecting soul to take the unit and they'll soon be presented with the same issues. Hoping that management would actual take some initiative to make the place better given the property value is raising in the area and new truly luxury apartments are being built within a few blocks.Property Manager Responded

Regular Break Ins - No Security
April 15, 2021I would highly recommend NOT living here. They’ve spent money on renovating the units and common areas but security is basically nonexistent. The pedestrian gates don’t lock, half of the time the garage doors are broken and left wide open, and we’ve consistently had break ins for the past 6 weeks. Our storage unit was broken into 5 days ago and now our car was stripped of parts when we parked it in the garage, and management claims they’re doing the best they can...Review from Apartments.com
Love living here
December 11, 2020I am so excited to be a new resident at Fitzhugh Urban Flats! Ryan was extremely helpful during the entire leasing process. She got back to me so quickly and answered all of my questions. She even let me tour the apartment a second time to compare different floor plans. She went above and beyond to make sure my move went smoothly! The property just got new owners so there’s a lot of renovations happening but I’m excited to be able to use the new two story gym! They have a lot of other awesome ...amenities as well like 3 pools, two new dog parks and you can park on the exact floor you live on. Noisy
September 28, 2017I wouldn't recommend this place unless you live on the top floor and even then God help you if your next door neighbors are noisy. I can hear every footstep the upstairs person takes and can hear next door neighbors have "relations" (the good and the bad). If I'd known this, I wouldn't have moved here. Even if u complain, they just send a courtesy officer by. You really have to throw a fit to get management to contact the resident.Review from Apartments.com
Bad apartment
May 31, 2017Very Bad alarm system in set up in this apartment complex. If you want to be a fireman and get up in the middle of the night because of loud fire alarms that happens a several times in one year, this is the right apartment for you.Property Manager Responded

Great location
October 31, 2016I feel safe here and it is close to every thing, esp my job. Office staff are nice to your face and do nothing to resolve issues,ie noise upstairs after 10 pm like weight dropping, hallways dirty and valet trash will not even take smallboxes. Perfect for Roommates
August 25, 2015This apartment is perfect for roommates. The layout is not only massive for Uptown Dallas it's really well thought out with giant closets and storage space. The room with the larger "master" closet has a smaller bedroom than the "secondary" room space, so my roommate and I both get something extra. The kitchen has great storage and quality finishes. I can't believe we can afford so much space and quality. Worst Apartment Experience I Have Had
August 11, 2015There are MANY things wrong with this apartment complex. There have been giant roaches in both my roommate's room and mine. The cell phone reception is almost non-existent. The walls are so paper thin that I get woken up every single day from loud banging upstairs. I have complained to the front office about this no less than 7-8 times and they have told me there is nothing they can do and they won't let me out of my lease. There have been many apartment and vehicle break-ins and the vehicles ...that were broken into were about 40 feet outside of my apartment door. There are cracks forming along my roommate's wall and nails coming through the ceiling from foundation problems. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT LIVING HERE.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great location reasonably priced
July 24, 2015Literally 5-7min away from uptown, downtown, west village, design district, etc. Walmart, target, and numerous other stores and restaurants right around the corner. Amazing location! The cost isn't horrible either, especially for the size of the apartments. Only negative is that all apartments don't come w/ washer/dryer in unit.Review from Apartments.com
