My wife and I moved to New Braunfels to attend graduate school at a nearby university a year ago. We were moving from an apartment complex in Stillwater, Oklahoma, that we had adored so much we had both gotten jobs there. I was a maintenance man and she was a leasing agent. We were looking for places to live online and the website and floorplans for the Landmark stood out from the rest, however the price was considerably higher than what we had been paying. Pros:
* Friendly staff (though we didn't have a lot of interaction this first year)
*Dog Park is HUGE (corner of their lot, not alot of grass and no trees for shade in south Texas)
*Legit nearby attractions (Comal River 3 minute walk from my door, Schlitterbahn about a 5 minute drive, Wurstfest 3 minute walk)
*Beautiful pool with lots of friendly residents frequenting it in the summer
*Pet Groomer, and Paul Mitchel Salon inside the Apt. Complex
*The Garden apts. are pretty darn soundproof
Cons:
*Weightroom is subpar with outdated equipment, much of which I suspect hasn't been inspected since they got it.
*Pet fee, Pet deposit, and Pet Rent...too much. (Pet fee and Pet deposit for one dog alone cost around 450-500 dollars up front)
*Not alot of "Bang for your Buck" $940 dollars for ~627 sq ft.
*As a maintenance man at a previous property cosmetic issues were easier to spot. Subpar painting on the walls and trim were noted as well as covered up or painted over wall damage.
