Terrible property
August 9, 2024I lived at Northside for 3 years and the experience got worse and worse overtime. The worst of it all was the lack of accountability Northside took when they moved a new resident into our apartment without notifying us. Within 48 hours of moving in, this resident stole our belongings, went into our rooms, ate our food from the kitchen and the list goes on. It is obvious little to no proper background checks are done as Northside only cares about the revenue they receive. Onto the smaller ...problems… The offices never answer their phone. They never have an answer and will have to “get back to you” and will never actually get back to you. The amenities are poorly maintained. The doors for all the buildings are broken, meaning anyone can access the buildings. They back-charge you for months of utilities whenever they feel like. Maintenance would mark your work order complete without actually fixing the issue. I was charged for Damages upon move out and I am yet to see such damages. Like feeling safe at home? Not at northside.
June 24, 2024If you enjoy feeling safe in your home then Northside is not the apartment for you. I recently had someone break into my apartment using a Northside key fob (these control the deadbolt). Had I not fought with Northside for a week prior to get my keyless deadbolt fixed (it came broken on move in) then they would have just walked right into my apartment. I reported the issue and was told that Northside didn’t have the capabilities to change a lock on the weekend if at all and I would have to ...wait until Monday. So Monday comes and goes with no contact or attempt to fix the lock. No one seems particularly concerned with the issue and I will likely have to have a private locksmith come out after the Texas 72hr landlord reasonable response period has lapsed. Northside doesn’t care about your safety and even if you report something you will have to push rope to get them to do something. My unit came with broken locks and covered fire sprinkler heads! Employees are unsympathetic, anyone the is not full time will just give you wrong info to get you to leave, and the full time people are hit or miss as well with some being the most rude. So don’t live here. You’ll be trapped with a bad lease anyway. Just go anywhere else.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

August 22, 2023Northside just wants to make money out of students by charging them for things which has nowhere been mentioned in the lease, nor on the website. Be ready for hidden charges- $25 for EACH neatly tied trash bag left OUTSIDE the apartment during of moveout without any prior intimation. They specifically mention charging for trash inside the house but smoothly hide the charges for trash left outside the unit(which is where residents usually keep the trash bags for it to be collected). ...Ridiculous. The management never gives us a clear answer when we ask them something. Responses to emails are late- usually after 5pm or sometimes they dont even bother to respond to issues! Why reply when you can quietly keep all the deposit money without clarification, right? They think that just having some random resident activities will earn them a good review. Maybe try having more empathy towards students sometimes.. Unclean common areas- corridors, lifts, hidden charges, never getting a solution to our problems on time as they just ask want us to email everything and then reply 3 days later, INFLATED rent prices for an apartment the size of a Walmart toilet (they dont seem to know about prorated rates) and YOU CANT EVEN MOVE OUT IN PEACE! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANY STUDENT- especially not an international student who doesnt have any guarantor here- they will charge you a bomb in the name of deposit. absolutely ridiculous
January 26, 2022Office never answers calls. They will charge you over and over, today I had to pay 20$ for 3 days worth of parking im not even joking. July 11, 2021I signed a lease with Northside a while ago, but due to personal reasons, I no longer plan to live there. Not only does Northside's lease have no exit clause, but they have gone out of their way to make it hard for me to find a subletter. Although I got an early bird rate, Genann from the leasing office told my subletter that she would have to pay the current rate, which is more than $100 more expensive per month. DON'T MOVE HERE
October 31, 2020PARENTS DO NOT LET YOUR STUDENT LIVE HERE. My son and his partner have lived here for over a year. From roach infestation to maintenance issues they have endured so much for a new community and the manager and Balfour Beaty Communities need to be ashamed. My son got a call at lunch last week from his roommate wanting to know why their refrigerator was emptied out. Find out the maintenance team went into their apartment and took out the food and then left to eat lunch. They were in the wrong ...apartment and I just found out they have a master fob to enter into any apartment. The office also did not have any idea they were in their apartment. They have also went a week end in the middle of summer without air-conditioning, endure noise and fire alarms going off. Hallways are disgusting and never clean. My son tries to speak to the manager but she thinks its funny. All their food is ruined and I had to get them groceries until they got paid. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CANNED RESPONSE HERE NORTHSIDE YOU DON'T CARE AND WE WILL NOT BE RENEWING THE LEASE. WE HAVE CONTACTED YOU MANY TIMES AND YOU COULD CARE LESS.Property Manager Responded
