January 7, 2022Our lease expired on 12/31/2021. Our new place couldn’t let us in until January 6th. Carter, my husband, asked Michael at one of the open jams in November if it would be okay for us to prorate the first week of January so we wouldn’t be homeless for a week. He said yes. When it came time to submit our notice to vacate, Michael insisted he never said we could have the prorated week and told us we had to pay the full month of January for those 6 days. Okay, not a problem, we will just move out ...on our original end of lease date 12/31/2021 and stay with some friends for a week. We get to 12/30/2021 and are packing up the moving truck. Carter gets a call at 4:45pm informing us that we are being fined for not turning the keys in that day as the office was going to be closed on 12/31. Now we had NO idea that this was the case as we had never been spoken to about turning our keys in early. Carter asked if we were going to be reimbursed for 12/31 as we technically still had one more day on the lease that they were trying to take away from us. At that point they backed down and said we could just leave the keys in the kitchen drawer on 12/31/2021. Not a problem. Where it gets really interesting is that I got a notification that we had been charged (payments were set up for automatic withdrawal) for January 2022 rent despite our lease ending on 12/31/2021. As the office was closed until Tuesday, I waited until then to reach out to management. There were many back and forth emails in which Michael completely ignored my issue and went on and on about the deposit. I reiterated this had nothing to do with the deposit and that they had charged us for rent after our lease had ended. After many emails I was told that there was nothing they could do and to reach out to my bank to reverse the charge. We had a wonderful experience with previous management and all of the front office people until this last month when new management took over. It is very sad to see one person trying to destroy what was a great community and place to live.Property Manager Responded

I miss it dearly
July 28, 2019The best 3 years of my life. Had so much fun living here, the community is awesome and you're so close to everything. This is the coolest place to live in Austin and still a great value when most places are skyrocketing. I really don't have a complaint, but will point out that if you aren't looking for an active party lifestyle this probably isn't for you. Austin, Texas' best kept secret dwelling.
July 25, 2015The Metropolis Apartments. It's a place that doesn't kill that screaming artist's voice inside of you after you become an adult. A place where special noise ordinances are in place to encourage the birth of a new guitar-riff most hours of the day. A place where three or more hot colors cake each building in a unique way (Google Earth it...Seriously). Truly a staple of the Austinite in the know. A place close enough to the heart of the live music capitol of the world, that a short walk (year ...round) could get you to a stage. A place that amplifies that different beat that's been pounding in your heart since you were old enough to dream. I have screamed, rocked, painted, photographed and filmed this place for almost six years now. Not a bad place for a Iowa farm boy to have landed.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
