Apartment-ites in Denver are never without a large amount of dining options, but sometimes you need to take in the beauty of your great city. There are numerous places around the city to enjoy the beautiful Colorado countryside, but no place does it quite as well as Highland's Garden Café. Covered in beautiful flowers, grown to specifically highlight the feel of the season, the restaurant is more than just a restaurant, it's also a trip to one of the most beautiful spots in the entire town. Situation smack dab in the heart of one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Denver, the restaurant is built in what was formally a Victorian-style home, so just walking up to the buildings, you'll be stuck back by the awesome beauty of it all. You can eat inside, but the best way to experience the true gorgeousness of it all is to sit on one of the outdoor patios. There are four patios in all, each providing their own special benefit for diners, as well as the numerous porches for a more private dining experience. No matter which you choose, you'll be able to eat something from their delicious menu, while taking in one of Colorado's gorgeous, sunny weather. The beauty of this place is legendary, but a restaurant just isn't a restaurant if it doesn't have delicious food. Appetizers include goat cheese quesadillas, mussels in light fumet, escargot baked in butter, Norma's crab cakes, or a petit omelette. You could also try one their delectable soup options, including gazpacho, red wine beef with mushroom, or vichyssois with salmon and watercress, or salads, like hearts of palm with avocado and rock shrimp, watercress with pistachios and pink grapefruit, and pear, sherried walnut and saga bleu cheese. After the delicious starters, it's time for the real deal, and at Highland's Garden Café, it doesn't upset. There are plenty of meat options, including grilled beef tenderloin with Stilton blue cheese, served with onions caramelized with bacon on greens with borderlaise, braised lamb shank with white beans, greens and tapenade, or lamb loin chops with dandelion greens with an live and roasted garlic balsamic dressing, or try one of their delicious fish dishes, including halibut in light broth with spring vegetables and a basil pesto, or grouper with wasabi cream, with spicy sambal vinaigrette. You can also try one of their many pasta options, including fettuccini with scallops, served with ham and spring peas in a light saffron cream, pasta with chicken in a Gorgonzola cream, sun-dried tomatoes and basil, or whole wheat pasta primavera, with vegetables, goat cheese, lemon and olive oil. There are many beautiful spots around the Denver area, but no place is quite as gorgeous as Highland's Garden Café. Apartment-ites can enjoy the beautiful gardens on one of the Denver's restaurants gorgeous patios, while taking in some of the most delicious food in town.
