Peaceful place!!
November 22, 2020This place is AMAZING! Been here since November 2019, i love the property, never had any issues with parking or neighbors and the management is very professional and just plain nice. My favorite person here is Lindsey. From the first day we came to the office to first apply and we moved in, she was so good. Completely helpful, kind, patient, informative and answered all of my questions promptly always. Maintenance team is very good and responsive. Maintenance guys always make sure that everything ...is done properly. I give Camden Crest 5 stars plus. You won't regret moving here!Property Manager Responded

lack of care
May 7, 2019Maintenance ruined my experience here. I initially loved this complex and never thought I would give it less then 5 stars. However, after details of a service request were ignored leading to the maintenance team letting my dog out of my apartment I would never recommend this complex to anyone. The staff believes because they took an extra 1 1/2 hour "helping" me look for my dog (after being the ones who lost her - and still on the clock getting paid) they did all they could to help. Ben, the head ...of the department admitted to going home at 6:30pm - knowing my dog still had not been found. I tried three separate times to call them and inform them I had found my dog, since I was under the impression they were still looking, only to have never had the phone answered - I was also told by Ben the following morning when I spoke with them that because I did not leave a message me calling did not matter. I was also met with the attitude of "well, sorry but we did the best we could." READ YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO MOVING IN. They let a third party vendor into my apartment completely unaccompanied by any employee of the actual complex. I took the time to call the complex for the work order to make sure they knew to leave my bathroom door closed - and it was not passed on. I have NEVER been a person to leave poor reviews and typically think that people who do are just bitter and did not get their way. I TRULY BELIEVE HOW THIS COMPLEX COMMUNICATES WITH EACH OTHER IS THE REASON THAT ISSUES HAPPEN. So when you read the reviews that cars are broken into and the complex does nothing (aka cameras that have been asked for several times)- believe it. When you read that the staff here does not care - believe it. It was proven to me that I am just a source of income for them and that they are in no way here to provide any service or help to me. Great customer service and care right? Thankfully, my dog was found.. running down the middle of one of the busiest roads in the area - not because of this complex who messed up in the first place - but because of random strangers who cared more. If you have a pet you care about and are contemplating moving here I hope you read and consider this before deciding to move in.Property Manager Responded

Avoid this place
May 4, 20191.) Bugs: Within the first few weeks I've had to deal with about 5 earwigs and about the same amount of cockroaches. When I reported the issue, the person I was speaking with tried to convince me that they're not cockroaches, but instead that they were waterbugs, as if I was an idiot. Also, they charge you if you want pest control to stop by, which does not seem to help as I am still getting bugs in the apartment 7 months in now. 2.) Noise: Dogs barking all night. Noisy neighbors that sound like ...they're dropping bowling balls and playing music way too loud. Old AC units that sound like buzzsaws. People revving their cars and blasting music. Kids shouting constantly and playing hide-and-seek right outside my window. 3.) The Management: Do not rely on them. They will lie to your face and will not help you at all.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
So glad to be out
August 27, 2018This apt complex was convenient in location for my husband and I and reasonably priced, before all the stupid extra fees for all this random stuff. The staff is absolutely unprofessional. They will tell you one thing and then do another. Maintenance would get things done ‘when available’ which could be up to a couple weeks. Random ‘fire alarm’ checks, random ‘sprinkler fixes’ or AC filter changes - when you have a dog or a baby in the apartment, random checks for things are not ideal. A little ...heads up isn’t asking for much. The cockroaches are unbelievable. The staff says they ‘spray’ for them, but not a day went by that we didn’t have to kill at least one - so gross. The pools are definitely not adult-friendly. They’re not that nice, but the amount of kids that take it over is just unbearable. I wouldn’t go if you plan on relaxing. I love kids, but they are all over this complex with very very little supervision, most of the time. I could go on about other things wrong with this apt complex but I’ve already wasted enough of my time. Just wanted to state my opinion. If I could go back and do it all over, I would stay in that same area, but absolutely go elsewhere. Don’t recommend Camden crest to anyone. #sorrynotsorryProperty Manager Responded

over priced
May 9, 2018I only gave this place 2 starts because the staff was friendly and maintenance responded to my request same day service. But the negative they do charge for every little thing and you will not get our full deposit back. So my place was spotless when I moved out but Camden took $500 out on my deposit because even though the carpet was spotless they pulled it up to find stains on the pad so they replaced the whole carpet. First point I'm going to make is that the carpet was already worn at move ...in so I know this statement is not true either they charge all move outs new carpet and just leave it for the next tenet. 2. make sure you read the contract to know they do charge you a move out cleaning fee which carpet cleaning is included in that and what they are suppose to automatically do including cleaning the apartment after 1 year and a half of a tenet living there. So any spills in the carpet regardless of if its been cleaned or not you will not get your deposit back. Also, peoples apt and cars get broken into at least once a week. also the introductory price you get at move in will go up $300 at time of renewal without any upgrade options.Property Manager Responded

I would not rent here.
December 30, 2017I have lived here for almost a year. I do not recommend this complex to anyone. It has not been an enjoyable experience to live here. Maybe if you live in the main building near the office and the staff takes the time to get to know you. I live at the top of the hill and the parking is terrible there is dog poop everywhere. They offer dog bags but most of the time they are empty so no one can pick up their dogs poop. Since the day I moved in I have had problems with packages being stolen off of ...my door step. The office will not hold packages for anyone and them being stolen is a major problem that has not been addressed. There also has been a lot of car break ins and apartment break ins during my time here. The way they addressed the break ins was very unprofessional they blamed the tenants and did invite the raleigh police department to come out and talk to us about working on our safety but this talk was held at 5 o clock on a week day and most people were not able to attend. They know people were frustrated with this and did nothing about it. The staff does not seem to care about their tenants. It is very obvious that it is corporately run. I do not recommend living here. I will not be renewing my lease and quite frankly for the quality of my apartment I am paying more than I should. I chose this because it seemed like a nice safe area. Clearly I was wrong and am now paying too much when I never know if something of mine will be stolen.Property Manager Responded
December 31, 2017Hey there, we are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience. We understand your concerns and would love a chance to discuss why we chose to stop accepting packages and also go over with the information that was given from our Raleigh police officers at the safety meeting we held. You can always reach out to us by calling 919-786-0688.

Staff blames me for their problems. Charges me every chance they can get
August 24, 2016When we moved in we placed our washer/dryer into the storage unit (which had another washer/dryer in it, weird at the time, but thought nothing of it). A few weeks later we go into the storage to get something and our washer/dryer is gone ($800 worth). We're told by staff that it was probably a maintenance worker that they had to fire due to questionable actions. They offered to let us have the other washer/dryer in there, or receive a small monetary reimbursement. We agreed to take the other ...washer/dryer. We'd later find out, upon moving out, that the other washer/dryer belonged to another resident (we bumped into him moving out and talked to him about it. Said the office assigned him the same unit) that they had also assigned to the same storage unit. A month or so later we had someone enter our apartment without our knowledge and open our blinds and rearrange our mirrors in such a way that someone outside could watch me sleep. They used a key to get in. It was suspected that it was the same worker. The guy they sent to re-key our doors would later be fired for the same questionable issues (possibly stealing from tenants). We had a thief in our home talking to us while he keyed our door. We filed a police report and everything. When we spoke to the manager about this upon move-out she more or less blamed us for the issue and told us that we should have been more diligent in following up, when it was something done under their own roof. I understand the lease says they do not guarantee safety, but the manager repeatedly made it out as our own fault. I guess I should have paid more attention to the people that aren't me, who had keys to my personal storage unit. I also had bugs crawling on my body, at night in bed. You do not know anger like waking up to a centipede on your bare-chest. We are extremely clean people. But the bugs came in waves through cracks in the foundation and improperly sealed windows Upon move out we were charged for an odor caused by smoking (we don't smoke) and stains in the carpet that we didn't create (they were there when we moved in). The complex took their 3rd party cleaner's word over ours and told us they couldn't do anything about it. We were prepared to pay the $75 cleaning fee and the water bill, but not the extra. They seem to be squeezing us for every penny they could get.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great apartment and complex, but not worth the trouble
August 11, 2016I lived in Camden Crest for 21 months. There were some great aspects of my time there and some pretty terrible ones, and overall it left a sour taste in my mouth. First the good: The apartment was great, moderately updated, and a real joy to live in during the time I was there. The complex as a whole is really nice too, with consistent reliable maintenance, great landscaping, and a we--maintained main pool area. Now the bad: The management was greedy and uncaring, constantly nickel and diming ...us the whole time we were there. When we first moved in, there was an issue with our payment that ended up being at the fault of their online payment system. However, they continued trying to charge us extra fees for the failure of their own system for several months. During our first 15 months (the length of our first lease there), Camden got rid of the business center because "residents were printing too much", shut down the second pool early because "someone vandalized it", and added nothing. So it was pretty disappointing when they decided to raise out rent by over $200 per month at renewal time. We were in the midst of planning our wedding, waiting for the return of invitation, so we kinda had to stay and renew. When we finally moved out, we thoroughly cleaned the apartment, and left it looking like a model apartment. But lo and behold, the greedy management trend continued, with over $350 of "carpet cleaning" charges based on a single stain less than 2 inches in diameter in the bathroom sink area. We asked for details on the charges and were promptly sent to collections. My advice: If the apartment and complex are your top priorities, Camden Crest does a good job. But you can find those in a number of places, and you're better off avoiding the headache of fighting the management and paying the extortionate fees by finding another complex.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

A Dream Come True
August 16, 2015I have been living at Camden Crest for nearly a year. I'm absolutely in love with this apartment. It's quiet, the neighbors are friendly, and the leasing staff is a great support system. Rent is reasonable right now, I just worry that once it's time to renew my lease, they'll raise my rent. But that's in the future. Anyway, as a single girl, Camden Crest is great and you get a lot for your money.Review from Apartments.com
