Awesome Management Team and Very Dog Friendly
April 24, 2020Everyone in the leasing office is very friendly and they go out of their way to help! The same can be said about the maintenance team who are also very fast to respond to service requests. This is definitely the most dog friendly place I have lived in. The property has a walking path that leads to a loop around a lake. Its great for afternoon walks! Marcus, Torice, Uju, Susie and the maintenance staff the best. The community is quiet and there are no issues. If you are looking for comfort, activities and a peaceful atmosphere, consider Camden Fair Lakes. You will not be disappointed. Best Spot I've Lived In!
February 7, 2020I have been a resident here for just under a year and a half and, as my term comes to an end, here are a few things to consider if this community is on your radar. Long story short, I would have stayed for a lot longer if lifestyle changes didn’t dictate otherwise. Here’s a breakdown of my experience with Camden Fair Lakes. The Team: I can’t give high enough praise for the whole team, both office and maintenance. I originally leased with Uju and she regularly checked in to make sure everything ...was okay or if any service tickets needed to be submitted and I will always appreciate her for that! Torice, Matt, Susie and Marcus will make you feel like a valued member of the community with routine updates on the comings and goings of Fair Lakes and never hesitated to help when needed. They’re also extremely responsive and, despite how large the community is, stay on top of their residents’ needs. The maintenance team is easily the best one that I’ve experienced. Fast, friendly and communicative; Del, Tien, Jimmy, Fidel and Lamin are the ones that make that Fair Lakes sing! At previous communities, I’ve had to wait days or weeks for issues to be addressed but not with these guys. Having the peace of mind knowing that there is a team dedicated to making sure everything runs smoothly within my home made my decision to leave all the more difficult. Facility: Your apartment will be in PRISTINE condition if and when you decide call Fair Lakes home. There was even a little gift bag filled with items to smoothen out the moving process. I loved the large farmhouse sink and stainless-steel appliances that actually work! You can tell Camden wants to provide the best living experience possible with the quality of the workmanship they provide. The amenity spaces are nice as well. They have the largest gym that I’ve ever seen, and the pool is always well maintained and never dirty. In short, I would definitely live here again and highly recommend this community to anyone interested in moving to the Fairfax area.Property Manager Responded

Don't Waste Your Time
October 4, 2017Parking Parking used to be a non-factor. Over the years the parking lot has gotten to the point where it's extremely packed - and I seriously doubt that the spots have been taken all up by residences. There have been a few occasions that I have had to park a quarter of a mile up the road and walk to my apartment in the back of the complex. That shouldn't even have happened! Due to this, I went ahead an purchased one of their reserved parking spots. It's worked fairly well, except that the new ...residents don't seem to have any respect for the reserved sign. Trash HAH! What a joke. We're forced to pay for valet trash. We're told to put trash outside of our doors starting at 6PM AND PICK IT UP AT 9AM. I'm sorry - but I cook in the evenings. What am I supposed to do without a trash can that entire time? For years I put my trash outside of my door without it being in the trash can for the very reason I just stated. It only started becoming a problem when neighbors who can't control their dogs started tearing trash bags open and it would spill across the breezeway and on the carpets. Idk how that's my problem - these negligent pet owners are a problem (I'll get to that). Additionally, the valet service that we pay for is picky about what they pick up, pick up trash at whatever hour they want, and most times I see trash stacked outside of the compactor and have seen large rats running around there. What a community. Pets Owners don't pick up after their animals. Some walk their dogs without leashes. Also, aside from the frequent dog poo and tearing of trash they also pee in the elevators. Missing Packages I cannot even begin to describe how many people have reported their packages missing, including myself. Occasionally, I've gotten my packages returned a few days after the fact already opened (how nice). Thankfully it wasn't my iPhone or anything valuable or I may never have gotten my items back. I blame part of it on our negligent USPS person but the other part on distrustful neighbors. I remember a time where it was NEVER a problem. Over the recent year - year and a half the quality of the residents have gone down.Property Manager Responded

We do tag vehicles that do not have Camden parking stickers or visitor passes to open up more parking opportunities for our residents. In regards to the Valet Waste service, the rules are there to help minimize trash stains, rodents etc. and all fees are listed upfront before entering into a contract. The Valet Waste staff and office are actively sending violations to help keep the community looking clean. We understand your frustration with pet waste and we have hired a third party company to help us with our cleaning efforts with any pet waste. Loved the apartment, not the management team
October 3, 2017Since day one, my two roommates and I had issues with management and the people working in the office. We often dealt with people that would give us the wrong information or tell us a number of different things, none of which made sense, there were also times were we were ignored. Upon move out we were charged for rent for the day we were supposed to move out along with other unexpected fees (none of which were mentioned in the lease, which we all read). we loved our little apartment (aside from ...the ever growing piles of trash outside and lack of parking spaces) and the maintenance team was always very helpful and fixed all of our issued with the apartment. In my opinion, the apartments are nice but overpriced. The people working in the office are not helpful and there are a lot of sketchy fees added to your account when you move out. We have gone through a lot of trouble just trying to talk to someone about why were were charged and we have been ignored multiple times and when we finally talked to someone, they were very unprofessional and rude. Moral of the story is, apartments are great and nice, management is not. be prepared to be charged $200 when you move out.Property Manager Responded

We Love It, Here!
May 12, 2017Honestly, we were very blessed to be at our apartment. We could never imagine living so close to Fairfax County Pkwy as well as Route 50, which made driving to our workplaces a breeze. Location is ideal for us! The renovations were done right before we moved in, and there are so many great things to mention. From the deep kitchen sink to the luxury-feel bathroom, we are very pleased with it all! Not including the clubhouse and gym, which is a plus! The three of us are currently staying in the 2BR ...with a loft, and I personally love the vaulted ceilings. We absolutely enjoy this place, and we really do call this, "Home." Our leasing manager, Trevor, has been phenomenal. This is our first apartment and the leasing process was such an ease thanks to the staff. We had our questions answered promptly, and Trevor has made personal connections with all of us. I always feel welcome and a valued tenant whenever I talk to him. Thank you, Trevor and staff (shout out to the maintenance team as well!) for all their hard work. We hope to renew our lease in a couple of months if the price is right. Not Luxury!
August 29, 2016I've lived at Camden Fair Lakes for about 6 months. I moved here from Maryland, and this is the first place I've lived in Virginia. The apartments are ok, and you will get a newly renovated one if you're moving in now. The appliances and the kitchen are great! Nothing else about the apartments should be considered luxury. Same low-grade paint and fixtures throughout. Cheap carpeting. Energy inefficient windows and doors. The bigger issue is the community itself is just terrible. There are ...so many tenants that live here who are just disgusting pigs - they litter (in their own "backyards"!) everything from cigarette butts to beer cans (hey Mom, come visit and oh don't mind the beer cans strewn about my front entrance) to their guests' parking passes. They have cars sitting around in disrepair. There are "temporary" dumpsters for the renovation work that are always used by the tenants and are filled to overflowing before they are emptied. Every single time. The neighbors are completely inconsiderate. Either loud, messy, or totally obnoxious with their dogs running off leash (but don't worry, "they're totally nice!"). This is not what I had in mind moving here, and I wish I had paid closer attention to the community instead of the unit alone when doing research. I don't know, maybe these things are unavoidable in any place, but even in the worst places I ever lived through college I never dealt with the pig-sty that is Camden Fair Lakes!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
better off somewhere else
August 27, 2016Do not even think about it! Trust me! I moved into Camden Fair Lakes and stayed there for 1 week. One of the most consuming, money draining and dreadful weeks I spent in my life. My apartment was infested with bedbugs and cockroaches from DAY ONE! I'm talking about babies, adults and even unhatched eggs. I was told my apartment was clean and ready to move in and that's what I paid for and what it looked like while they were hiding between the cracks. Management scheduled a treatment days after I ...reported bed bugs which forced me to stay in the condo or leave with infested furniture and when I decided to leave the complex after the treatment, they did not refund me anything even though I didn't even sleep in the condo after the second night because I got bit by the bugs all over my body. I paid $1200 worth of application fee's, admin fee's and pro-rated rent that I didn't get back after I terminated that lease and with these circumstances.
