We have loved living at Camden Shady Grove for over year. The staff when we moved in and the staff that is currently here have been absolutely amazing! I also have to mention the hard work that is put in daily by the staff to keep the property clean and safe. The location is incredibly convenient. Tons of walking paths - especially if you like to walk your dog or go for a run. I highly recommend!

Living in Camden is a great living experience. The facility is clean, the maintenance team is super quick to fix any issues, and the leasing team always responds to inquiries in a timely manner. Rent is expensive in the DMV, but the size of unit and price you pay is very competitive compared to nearby complexes. One issue that has occurred is that package deliveries through mail packages are lost, but not at the fault of Camden. Sometimes people will smoke in the courtyard despite the complex ...
being smoke-free, but the leasing office has always reached out to the culprits. They will also bring out food trucks every week for residents to try out (in non-covid season). I would absolutely recommend this apartment, especially for recent-college grads and young families.

I toured the building two days ago. The staff are great, which is why I wanted to come and live at Camden anyway. Here is what us run away.
1- Parking is somewhat of a bloodsport there. We spent 45 mins trying to find parking in their courtesy parking lot inside and around the building. ZERO spots on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing at all on the metered parking spots. If we live here and have guests, I would be a hassle when they visit.
2- The apartments we toured were new but not super clean. The ...
shelves inside the kitchen cabinet were worn out and some paint was splashed on the cabinets, although really small, but visible.
3- They have no concierge and no room to hold packages. Packages are supposed to be delivered to your door and if you are not around you can let management know so they can push things in for you. This for me is a huge hassle. I do everything online and I travel a lot. Not really convenient.
No other complaints. I want to thank the staff member that showed us for her knowledge and professionalism. But we have gone from 100% sure of wanting to sign here to not so sure anymore..

Worst Experience Ever

This place advertises luxury and doesn’t even come close. There is dog urine all over the carpets in the hallway. The parking garage isn’t safe and there have been several incidents (non resident loitering, tires stolen, cars hit). I’ve had packages and the wreath from my front door stolen. The walls are thin and I wake up to children screaming... The list goes on and on. Search elsewhere if you are considering Camden

After a long search... CAMDEN SG was my choice! I am SO happy I chose this complex.
I love the amenities this building offers from the modern design to the upgraded appliances.
Camden also did a great job making the exterior courtyards feel homey with their greenery and flower choices.
The pool is fabulous, gym is great and the staff is top notch.
Complaint: Lazy tenants who do not pick up their dogs poop! This is not a negative reflection on Camden, just the residents
who chose to be ...

Millipede infestation, parking issues and pest waste

This place has a millipede infestation that has not been resolved. Please be aware that these insects are not only in the lobby but in residents' units. They also manage parking which costs $50 monthly poorly and have issues with residents not picking up pest waste in elevators as well as inside and outside the building.

After being a resident for the past 12 months of the Camden Shady Grove, please allow me an opportunity to update my review.
This apartment community is as terrible as initially advertised. With only 4 months left in my lease, I can't wait to escape this hell hole. Here are my reasons why. Recently, I tried to add my fiancé to my lease. The apartment management informed me that I had to pay a $25 application fee, which was no problem. But the "administrative fee" to add a new person to the ...
lease is $200.00. Yes, $200 just to add someone to the lease this is absolutely ridiculous.
With Camden properties, you will receive a forced technology package, refusal to deliver packages for guests, and applying excessive fees to residents every chance they get. One of the worst decisions I've made was to live in this community.
The apartment community is nothing special, and there are many better options out there. My recommendation is to skip this community and live somewhere else.
Let me add, clearly; they have posted many fake reviews on this property, no way would a real resident ever give this place five stars.
