Gaithersburg experiences all four seasons, with cold, snowy weather in the winter, and moderate, rainy winter in the spring, hot, muggy weather in the summer months and cooler temperatures in the fall. The greatest temperatures in the summer will reach the low triple digits, and it generally stays around freezing during the winter months.

Gaithersburg has an old time downtown area with an old train station now converted into a museum detailing the city's history. There are antique shops, boutiques, and restaurants in the two block downtown area. You can visit the C & O Park that follows the Potomac and extends from Georgetown to Cumberland, MD.
