These apartments are great, price is about average in the area and are very quiet. I love how the other neighbors come together in the grill area and make friends. The ladies in the office are very polite and helpful. Love to live here.

Reasonable priced apartments

I was looking for a reasonable price apartment in the Tampa area and after touring these apartments loved it here. The office manager made my process easy and pleasant and my stay has been good. Maintenance is quick and very knowledgeable and they solve my request in no time.

I've lived at Fernwood for ~6 years and have had a TON of ups and downs. The community has been sold and bought multiple times and the current owners, Sinatra & Company, are *not* the best Fernwood has had. The company resides in Buffalo and they are very hands off whenever there is an issue with the office/community. Rental prices and additional fees have increased exponentially, but the amenities are NOT what is presented by the complex. The controlled access gate has not worked in years ...

(literally), only a few washer and dryers are available for use in the laundry facility, the "dog park" is a small square of turf, and there is no "clubhouse" on site. Pest control is also a major issue. We pay $5/month, but the complex does not actually service the property or our units. This fact was never communicated, but then when you contact them to request service it takes weeks. Communication by office staff does need improvement due to it being very inconsistent, but overall Nataly has been an asset to the community.

I have just resigned my lease here and I will say, I feel the apartment isn’t exactly fully worth what I’m paying after my rent increase (but isn’t that like anywhere in Tampa?). There are many small points of irritation, but that definitely has nothing to do with the staff. Since the new staff has come in, living here has become a lot more bearable. Maritza in the office is extremely helpful and friendly every day even when I’m constantly in with issues and problems for her to resolve. The same ...

goes for Zach in maintenance. He’s always happy to help and goes above and beyond for me putting in other requests outside his job description saving me a trip to the leasing office. So overall I’d say this place is getting better since I first moved in and that’s largely in part, thanks to all of the staff.

I have been living here for a little over two years and I have never had any issues with maintenance or the office. The maintenance person is very respectful and happy, it is pleasant to talk to him. Nataly always explains to me any concerns I have and have worked with me diligently. The place is very quiet and the office communicates with us regarding any issue.

Gracious, when you think it can't get any worse, Fernwood Grove has to prove you wrong. For two mornings in a row we have been awakened at 3:30 am and 3:45 am by the property's alarm system going off ... which means the fire alarm in my apartment screeching, alarms throughout the exterior of the property blaring, and lights flashing in the walkways, and all for ... no discernible reason. Of course, no one from management responded to either incident at the time, in person or by phone. Two ...

emails to management asking for an explanation and some reassurance that this wouldn't happen again - since adults have work and children have school in the morning - were ignored. Fortunately, this is an issue that can be referred to Code Enforcement, so that's the route we'll take.

My experience thus far: 1. Maintenance requests are not handled in a timely fashion (in fact, they will ignore a maintenance request they just don't want to deal with) 2. Maintenance requests that are handled aren't handled thoroughly (e.g. incomplete fixes or explanations for non-fixes that essential state "that's just the way it is.") 3. The walkways are dirty 4. The property is loud, especially if you live near the entrance gate and have to deal with that incessant beeping day and night as ...

people enter the property by car or leave the property by foot (at 6 am, that's really fun as children start leaving for school) 5. You may pay for a unit with a washer/dryer, but that doesn't mean you'll get one that works properly (now see comments #1 and #2) 6. Office hours are designed for the convenience of staff, not residents: No weekend hours and no late hours to accommodate residents who work (in fact, they close early on Tuesdays!). This apartments.com listing says they are open 10-3 on Saturdays; this is not true. If anything changes, I'll be sure to update my review, but thus far, very disappointing.

Not a good place

These apartments have a new management. The staff in the office, one particularly name thomas, knows nothing and keeps telling you to talk to Janis. When you talk to Janis, this person is unprofessional and rude. These apartments are pricey for its condition. Also, they charge for even walking there. Stay away and find something better.
