Apartment living in Austin can be a blast, but it can also leave you with difficult choices to make. Do you want to hit up a sports bar? A outdoor lounge? A live music venue? Apartment-ites need not worry so much, however, because there is one location in Austin that gives you all three, and so much more. Whether you need a place to relax with friends and enjoy a drink, a place to play a game of pool or darts while knocking bad a few, or if you're looking for somewhere to dance the night away to some of Austin's local artists, The Speakeasy is here to cater to your every need. The Speakeasy is made up of three different levels, each catering to a different kind of crowd. The first floor, called the Main Floor, is the place to listen to live Austin bands, with a large dance floor in front of the stage and plenty of tables to enjoy a drink while you enjoy the sounds of Austin's best. The place swims with hardwood floors and the lively ambiance of the 1920s. Just upstairs is the Mezzanine, where sports fans can enjoy the game, take in a quick game of pool or darts, and down a few suds. The top floor, known as Terrace59 is their main draw, and one of the most famous spots in Austin for enjoying a fantastic view of Austin's skyline. Just be careful of ghosts, who have been known to creep up and down the 59 steps of this famed Austin building. Whether you've come for a simple beer, or something more inventive or exciting, this place has it covered. They have a great selection of both local and specialty drinks, so if you're looking for a terrific brew to wet your whistle, The Speakeasy is ready for you. While you're here, though, why not try one of their specialty drinks? They have a huge selection of martinis, with interesting variations such as The Haunted, with Finlandia Mango, sweet -n- sour and Blue Curacao; the Volstead Act, with Grey Goose L'Orange, Cointreau, a squeeze of lime and just a dash of cranberry juice; and the Flirtini, with Sky Berry, Sweet and Sour and cranberry juice, all topped off with champagne. They also have any gin, whiskey, vodka, tequila or rum drink you could think of, and plenty that are just beyond your wildest imagination. The Speakeasy has been an Austin institution for years, and it's easy to see why. Apartment-ites in Austin who are indecisive about just what kind of place they want to go to need worry no longer, because the Speakeasy provides the experience of a sports bar, and outdoor lounge and a music club all in one.
