Apartment-ite's in Austin have it made, because there's plenty of great places to eat just a few steps from your apartment. If you're in the mood for seafood, all you have to do is walk down the street and there are half-a-dozen restaurants to cater to your need, so the real question is, which one to choose? What makes Truluck's a step above all of your average seafood fair is its fresh ingredients, its diverse menu, and the great ambiance. It's everything you would ever want in a seafood house, and you won't have to take out a loan just to get a good meal, either. Truluck's starts from the bottom up, realizing that fresh, delicious ingredients will make fresh, delicious food, and that means a bigger crowd for them. The crab comes straight from Truluck's very own fisheries one the Isle of Capri, which they catch with their very own boats, and the lobster comes straight out of the oceans off the coast of Maine. All the rest of the fish is fresh, as are all of the vegetables and other meats they use. This dedication to freshness has not gone unnoticed either. The restaurant received rave reviews from critics everyone, including winning several awards from the Austin Chamber of Commerce. City Search also called Truluck's the best seafood place in Austin, and it received glowing reviews from both Texas Monthly and Austin American-Statesman. When all these magazines and websites are singing your praises, you know you must be doing something right. All the praise in the world is worthless, however, if the everyday patron doesn't get a delicious, enjoyable meal. Truluck's menu is interesting and varied, containing many of the usual staples as well as numerous unique, more high-scale dishes. One of the mainstays of the place is their fresh crabs imported from Alaska, Florida, Maine and even the Carribean, and you can have it in any number of ways, so whether you like the just the claws, in a cake, or in a cocktail, they'll just the flavor you want. Another draw is the fresh Maine lobster, or, if you prefer, Australian Cold Water Lobster Tail. If fish is more your thing, there are plenty of delicious fish dishes, from Macadamia-nut and coconut crusted Mahi-Mahi, to Jalapeno Salmon, to Miso-Glazed Australian Barramudi, they've got plenty of interesting flavors to keep you interested. The star here, however, is the Prince William Sound Sockeye Salmon, considered to be some of the most delicious salmon you'll ever taste, served in a number of different ways to please your pallet. Critics and crowds alike agree that for seafood, you can't do much better than Truluck's. You Austin apartment residents out there should take the walk down and experience some of the freshest crabs, lobsters, and fish straight from the best waters in the world, and have one of the most enjoyable evenings the great city can offer.
