How do I get around town?
You can arrive and depart Billings via the Billings Logan International Airport. MET Transit is the local public bus system. MET buses are all wheelchair-accessible and have bike racks. Paratransit is also available for disabled riders. With numerous trails, Billings is very bike and pedestrian friendly.

The average commute in Billings takes about 17 minutes. Interstate 90 runs east and west through the southern part of Billings. Montana Highway 3 runs north and south through Billings downtown area. US highway 87 is known as the Main Street and is the busiest roadway in Montana.

Billings has the largest media market in Montana. The Billings Gazette is the main newspaper, which publishes three different editions. The main news stations are KTVQ, KULR8. Popular radio stations include Yellowstone Public Radio (NPR), 103.7 The Hawk (Classical Rock), and HOT 101.9 (Hip-Hop).

Pictograph Cave is a national monument that contains 2,000 year old rock paintings. Meriwether Lewis carved his name into rock at Pompey’s Pillar, named after Sacajawea's son. There are three colleges within Billings, Montana State University Billings, Rocky Mountain College and Yellowstone Baptist College.
What is there to do around Billings?
Billings is a place for active people who enjoy being outdoors. Residents enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, skiing, mountain climbing, fishing, boating, golf, mountain biking, rappelling, just to name a few. In the summertime people enjoy art walks, concerts, food fairs and rodeos.
Any annual festivals or Billings events to know?
There is a festival for everyone in Billings. For food lovers, try the Wine and Food Festival at MSU Billings in May. If you love music, check out the Alive After 5 concerts that run Thursdays, June through September. If you are a history buff, see the Battle of the Little Big Horn Reenactment that takes place every June.

There are seven mountains within viewing range of Billings, and two national parks, (Yellowstone and Glacier), offering a myriad of great weekend getaways. There are so many types of accommodations from yurts to cabins, ski lodges, historic inns, to camping, even staying in a wolf sanctuary! Nothing says getting away like being out in nature, away from the sounds of the city.
Where is the best place to move in Billings?
" The different areas of Billings are divided up by geographical locations. Two-thirds of the city is in Yellowstone Valley and the South Hills area. The other third of the city is in the Heights-Lockwood area. The city itself is divided by the Rims, long cliffs that run north and east of downtown. The south side of Billings is one of the oldest residential areas, and the most diverse. Many new apartments in Billings are showing up in the West End, a high end neighborhood with a great shopping district. Another place to see rapid growth of Billings apartments is in Josephine Crossing, a very trendy area with a dense population."
