Houston is known for many things - bbq, seafood, its museum district - but admit it, the one thing you simply need to do once you've established yourself is go to the rodeo. Reliant Stadium and Reliant Park area is not only home to the Houston Texans, but your best bet at seeing some steer wrangling action is right next door at Reliant Park Arena. Size is the name of the game here. Reliant is a HUGE stadium and is mainly home to the Houston Texans and an occasional Houston Dynamo or college football bowl game. With 65k+ seats, this is a state of the art stadium that rocks the house! Natural grass covers the stadium field thanks to the unique indoor / outdoor retractable roof that allows the sun to help the grass grow! The Arena is massive too, home to everything from Disney-On-Ice to alt-rock band Weezer intertwine on the calendar of events. This being Texas, however, means that sporting events still dominate the lineup! The area holds Cheerleading competitions and even extreme freestyle motocross taking top billing for much of the season. Reliant Arena houses up to 125,000 square feet of entertainment capacity and houses trade shows ranging from antique firearms to power tools (and everything in-between). And don't forget those rodeo shows (complete with clowns), as Reliant offers your best chance to grab the bull figuratively...and possibly literally...by the horns.
