Old world cooking methods combine with a new world restaurant to create great flavors and fantastic style, and you reap all the benefits. Eating at Fogo de Chao can be a very unique and interesting experience. Instead of ordering straight from the menu, you instead pay one fixed price upon entering and just eat whatever you like. The restaurant is based upon the Portugese idea of espeto corrido, or "continuous service", where the customer can eat however much or however little he or she wants. Fogo to Chao puts you in charge of the meal, making eating a fun, original experience. While the cook continues to bring you fresh, sizzling meats, roasted in churrasco fashion over a roaring pit, you can feel free to partake in the large and varied salad bar, as traditional Brazilian side dishes, including cheese bread, fried bananas, polenta, and mashed potatoes. Many years tradition go into making these dishes, and the dedication to keeping old world styles really adds to the flavor of the food. If you're looking for a nice something to drink, Fogo de Chao has one of the best wine lists in Phoenix. The restaurant is the recipient of numerous awards from Wine Spectator, and it's easy to see why. Local wines from the Napa, Alexandra and Columbian Valleys are present, as well as wines from South America, Spain, and all over Europe. If you're looking for something for after supper, feel free to try one of their delicious ports and dessert wines. An evening at Fogo de Chao is a chance to experience one of the most unique meals of your life.
