Wonderful building and community
June 4, 2020I've lived in this building for over two years, and, unfortunately, I am moving out due to current events and long commute into the city. I truly enjoyed living in the building! The manager, William, has been super helpful and friendly when checking/following up on requests and questions! The staff has always been welcoming and honest about the building (Mike is the best, and most reliable, leasing agent!). Most of the staff are friendly! Maintenance has always been on top of getting things ...done, especially during a 9-5 job. Security has always been friendly even though sometimes it is hard to get ahold of them; it's useful to have the phone number to call them. I had a studio, and it was an excellent fit for me. The only problem was not having a washer and dryer in the unit and having to use the on-site laundry facilities. The first year I lived there, the machines were always broken, or always occupied. I would go to a local laundromat to do laundry instead. Never had any rodents or bugs. I was told that if you keep your space clean, you wouldn't have any unpleasant visitors, and it seemed to have worked! One thing to note, my neighbors seem not to be aware that they have actually to throw out their garbage down the chute, so everyone else doesn't have to climb over waste to throw it away and The location is pleasant! Close to the grocery, shopping centers, and Old Town Alexandria. There is a bus stop right outside the building, and it is the first/last stop, so you will always find a good seat! Overall, I love this building and the surrounding community! Again, I wish my commute wasn't so long because I would stay here for another year.Property Manager Responded

Still Average After All These Years
December 21, 2019...although, average seems like it beats the tar out of most other places around here. Honestly more like 3.5 stars. Me: 2 year resident, single dude in a studio. That's probably enough to uniquely identify me to management, but IDC. Pros: Location - right off 395, lots of convenient shopping/restaurants Construction - thick walls/carpet mean you never hear neighbors (literally heard the baby next door to me exactly twice in the year they were there), nothing has broken, never had bugs despite ...leaving food out constantly, the apartment that caught fire this year didn't spread Floorplans - spaciousish, balconies everywhere Amenities - gym is okayish and clean, movie room is cool, electric included is awesome, tennis/basketball/pool exist, Amazon Hub manages most small packages Management - just like literally every other service industry, if you treat them like people they'll return the favor. Maintenance is prompt and effective, they treat for vermin regularly (1 oz prevention, it seems). Cons: Location - you have to have a car or a mild case of masochism to leave the area, which you will want to do a lot. The Beauregard/236 intersection is miserable. Parking is free but you'll have to leave keys with the valet if you get home late (as of writing, around 10ish weekdays, 11 weekends) Construction - building is older, they do shut off the water about once a month to fix something, but if you have a 9 to 5 you'll almost never notice maintenance. Floorplans - studios don't have W/Ds. Laundry room is free but a tragedy of the commons writ small, as (I assume) folks overload and break the machines, and they take forever to get fixed. Amenities - I'm lazy and none of my friends live around here so I never use them, also I'd feel bad dunking on kids. Management - Concierge and security are the same role, so it feels like a 50/50 shot if someone will be at the desk for you to claim a package or your keys from the valet, or if you'll have to wait 15 minutes while they're on rounds. Water isn't metered individually, so I know I'm subsidizing the families around here, but electric is included so it's a wash (heh). Bottom line: You're definitely getting what you pay for - a decent place with a couple perks and a bunch of minor annoyances, but nothing dealbreaking. If you're not high maintenance and you own a car, you can do way worse than this place for the same price or more (and I have).Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Terrible service from management
September 11, 2018I don't usually write reviews, but the service I just received is ridiculous. I have only been renting for a few months. Have been paying rent monthly before it's even due. Management is not accommodating at all. Do not move in here...especially if your looking for a kind, understanding, reasonable management team! So sad that the review from 2 years ago about a rude staff has not changed.Review from Apartments.com
Stay Away from Excelsior.
July 21, 2018I have never lived in a worse apartment in my life. The water is shut off for a full day at leaat 3 times a month to fix their aging heatAC inits. The building is constantly under renovations above my head with no notice seriously hammering 6 days a week from 8 am to 6. There are contant intrusions with bug and rodent people constantly in your apartment. The smells of garbage and nasty food permeates the halls. No access to anything if you have mobility issues. Stay away!!!Review from Apartments.com
Great apartments, great service, great experience overall!!
June 6, 2017This is my first ever review for anything period! Because of the high level of service and professionalism we have received from Tracy (Property Manager), David (Maintenance Supervisor), and the leasing staff (Mike & JoJo), it is only right I share my experience. Tracy and her staff have went above and beyond to make our move-in process as easy as possible. When we had any questions Tracy was able to take our calls even after business hours when she was at home. When we had our move-in ...inspection, David the Maint. Supervisor was extremely knowledgeable and took care of all our concerns in the apartment. He was very helpful and made sure all the requests we put in were taken care of the next day with his maintenance staff. Mike and JoJo in the leasing office were very professional and prompt with answering all of our questions. We are overall very happy with our decision to move in to Excelsior Towers. The apartment is very spacious and clean. I just want to thank Tracy and her staff for all their hard work and professionalism in being attentive to their tenants. Well done ladies and gentlemen. I would definitely recommend this property to others who are considering moving to Excelsior Towers. A job well done to all.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Not good place to live
September 4, 2016I am right now resident at tower 2000 , but this we'll be my last months here . The office employees are rude and mean , they ignored me for more than one month when I asked them for roaches in my kitchen. They are so slow if you have a package in their office. Believe me it is not worth your money . I well move from here after 3 years I West living here in this old building.Review from Apartments.com
Not good place to live
September 4, 2016I still live here in this horrible building from 3 years. Few months and my lease with them will over and I well leave. The office employees are rude and mean. My house was effects with roaches , it needed me to contact the country to force them to fix everything wrong in my apartment. The children kicked my door more than 4 times, the office employees told me to run after them to take a picture. They don't have cameras in 16 floors building. It's unsafe to live here believe me .Review from Apartments.com
LOOK ELSEWHERE
February 19, 2016Yes the price is right and it looks ok, but dig deeper or you'll be disappointed. Facts: Staff is rude and not helpful, parking doesn't exist literally for your guests, rodent issues, various unpleasant smells, cheapest appliances that break, too many kids running around, unsanitary gym.Review from Apartments.com
Average Experience
September 23, 2015I lived at Tower 2000 for almost 6 years. I started off in a studio and then moved into a one bedroom with a den. Overall my stay was OK. The management staff changes about every 2 years and they were some that were excellent and some that I didn't care for as much. Tower 2000 is not for the young professional that is looking to meet and network with like-minded individuals. It is very family oriented and there are a lot kids. The is a bug infestation problem, so every 6 months or so, you ...are required to empty out all of your cabinets for treatments. In addition, when I first moved, I saw a mouse, but after I contacted management, they resolved the issue fairly quickly. My biggest gripe about Tower 2000 was the parking. There is NOT enough parking for residents LITERALLY. Essentially, when you come home after 8 or 9pm you are lucky to find a parking space...if you can't find a space, then you have to park your car behind parked cars, walk to the valet guy, give him your key, he will hand you a ticket and then in morning, you have to go to the front desk, provide the attendant with your ticket, she/he will give your key, then you have to walk to the parking lot and SEARCH for your car. In the summer, it didn't bother me as much, but when it was cold or raining, it was nuisance. After so many years of living there, I never got used to it. As stated, my experience at Tower 2000 was not horrible, but its important to know what to expect. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy the luxury of the upgraded apartments, but hopefully it is making a difference in the variety of people moving into the building. Here are a few pros to consider: Right of of 395: - as soon as you get off the exit, the apartment building is right there Thick walls: Tower 2000 is an older building so the quality of the construction is fairly good and you don't have to worry about hearing your neighbors All apts. have balconies Recently Renovated apartments Fairly Safe, I didn't have any issues with tenants or people loitering around in the building Management responds pretty quickly to service requests or issuesRead MoreReview from Apartments.com
2000 tower
September 18, 2015great place to live, new kitchen, new bathrooms, nice view, washer and dryer in unit and plus all of that utilities included except water. And most importantly affordable prices.Review from Apartments.com
Nice Place
September 8, 2015This the a nice place to live if you are just starting out. It's clean and they are updating the lobby at the moment. The area is safe and they have a 24-hour security of site. The disadvantages are the parking.Review from Apartments.com
Tower 2000
August 24, 2015New to the area, i like it so far. It is kind of small compare to where i used to live. But it is a little cheaper with only one utility to pay. I like the new kitchen and the view. The seem organized.Review from Apartments.com
