Nornally do not write reviews but after so many bad rental experiences in the past, I have to say I am pretty pleased with living here. The large balcony and free parking are what sold me but the staff over the past few months have been really responsive. Very appreciated.

I recently moved from out of state and I couldn't be happier with my choice! The location right on the Plaza is ideal for convince and fun, and with off street parking included it can't be beat for the area. The staff was very communicative and accommodating as well! I'd recommend The Lakota for anyone looking for a nice walkable mid size community.

I can't say enough great things about the Lakota on Grand)- both the property and the management are fantastic- a rare combination. I was looking for an affordable option in the city that met all of her preferences at a reasonable price. I found everything she was looking for at the Lakota!! that seem affordable usually fall between sketchy and downright dangerous. The Lakota is truly a rare find- a convenient location in the Plaza with quick access to all major highways, surrounded by PLENTY of things to do, not too big or small, great residents, caring management, friendly and trustworthy maintenance staff, well-kept grounds, and the list goes on. The Lakota has my highest recommendation and you will be wise to give this one a look.

The Lakota is a beautiful property! I have lived in KC my whole life and never knew of this hidden gem until I started apartment searching! The Location is perfect for going to the Plaza frequently and for school! I can walk to my classes! The units each get their own balcony and the kitchens are all updated to the modern looks that I love! My roommate and I are so glad we picked Lakota to be our perfect home!

DISGUSTING!

This apartment complex is disgusting! It is infested with cockroaches. The infestation is so bad, I had to use my own money to get a company to come out more often to help fight off the roaches. THEY WERE EVERYWHERE! And when the company paid for by the apartment came by, they knew there was a problem and said the apartment had canceled sprayings several times! I lived there for a year and over the 12 months I was there, at least 5 cars were broken in to. Their driver's side windows were ...

smashed - glass was always everywhere. Only once, did we get an email about the break-ins. It was obvious the complex owners were doing nothing about it. One last note about the parking lot, it floods. AND NOT JUST A LITTLE. It floods to tire height (at least) and often. The complex has a very unprofessional maintenance person who believes in bubble gum and duct tape fixes instead of doing a proper job the first time. He was the one charged with putting in a drain to help the flooding. It never worked. And the water just sits, so it starts to smell and rot away the surface of the lot. Do not move here for what they are asking. You can find better places for this price range. I did.

I have lived here for a couple of months and so far it's been great! The location is very convenient and the new management is friendly and responsive. The property itself is very unique and I've enjoyed living so close to the Plaza. I would definitely recommend checking Lakota out if you are moving to the KC area!
