Denver's nightclubs may have some strange names across the board, but apartment-ites will be hard-pressed to find any name stranger than Dulcinea's Hundredth Monkey. Of course, as is to be expected, there is a long story to just where the name came from, stemming mostly a gigantic stone monkey and the work of Miguel Cervantes, but all you need to know is that Dulcinea's Hundredth Monkey is a great place to grab a drink and dance the night away with some of the most beautiful folks in town. The name be funny, but the club is all serious, and you'll have a seriously fun time inside its doors. The real draw at this bar would be the cool jazz and hot funk playing through the speakers at any particular night. The joint is always alive with jazz hounds, enjoying drinks and chatting with pretty young things. The place may not have the sleek class of other places, but it more than makes up for it with its warmth, with couches, coffee tables and end tables scattered around the place, as in some college students apartment. This playful decor helps add to the fun of frivolity of this jazz club, where the only thing cooler than the jazz are the patrons. There's even special Reggae DJs making their way to the stage on Sunday nights, so if jazz isn't quite y our thing, come in Sunday evenings to hear some hip island sounds. In a lot of classy bars around town, they give you a upscale feel, but also make you pay an upscale price for your experience. In such places, the drinks, the VIP room, even getting in the door can leave you breaking the bank, but not at 100th Monkey. The drinks are affordable, and the price at the door won't cost you an arm and a leg either. It has some of the most affordable prices in town, so it's no wonder the crowd keeps pouring in night after night. For cool jazz, hot funk and some of the most beautiful folks in town, apartment-ites can't do much better than Dulcinea's Hundredth Monkey, one of Denver's strangest, but greatest, lounges.
