With all the hip, modern music being played in most of the clubs around Jacksonville, many apartment-ites may forget there was even music made before 1990. One club bringing the past alive, however, is 57 Heaven, where you dance the night away just like at an old sock hop, with all the best in oldies being spun by folks who really know what they're doing. You'll think you stepped back in time once you entering the doors and hear hits by all the top artists of the fifties, as well as some more current stuff thrown in to spice up the mix. If you're hungry, you can even grab a burger off their food menu. There's no place in town quite like 57 Heaven, and oldies fan will find themselves in awe that such a place still exists. The dancefloor is always hopping at 57 Heaven, so get ready to cut a rug with the best of them, because this crowd is always into what they're doing. If you're a little new to the whole dance scene, then never fret, they offer free dance lessons to anyone willing to try something new every Wednesday. Any other day of the week they have DJs spinning all your favorite classics, many nights featuring requests, so you'll never have a moment to sit, unless it's to enjoy their tasty cocktails or one of their delicious, juicy burgers. Get ready to be thrown back in time to a decade full of poodle skirts, hula hoops and Corvettes, where folks used to come down to sock hops and dance til late.
