Temple City - named after Bernard Moore Temple - was founded in 1881 as a railroad town. It was founded by the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railroad. It has developed over the years starting the establishment of two private schools to the commercial and residential city it is today.

A good road network that connects Temple City. The E Adams Ave, W Adams Ave, S 3rd St and N 3rd St intersect in the middle of the city. The Central Ave, Adams Ave, and 3rd St all connect to the main highway I-35. Other feeder roads and avenues connect the various neighborhoods, amenities and working areas in Temple City.
