Just north of Atlanta on GA 400 is this beautiful scenic area. This area contains 16 park units, 50 miles of hiking trails, 48 miles of river and peaceful picnic areas. Bring your swimsuit and plenty of sunscreen for river activities like river rafting, canoeing, and kayaking. there are vendors that will supply all river rental equipment. If water fun is not what you are looking for head to Bowman's Island for horseback riding, hiking and trout fishing. The Chattahoochee River contains 23 species of game fish for year-round sport. This area is only for day use from dusk to dawn. If you are needing a place for lodging or camping there are surrounding towns that are only 13 minutes to 28 minutes away. Park fees: $3.00 parking or $25.00 annual parking fee. Take your Saturday drive with family and friends to this relaxing destination and make your dream a reality. Oh, secure your apartment door!
