From dark to light, amber to reds, you have yet to meet a brew you didn't like, and as a newly settled apartment-ites in Albany, New York, one of your first orders of business is a simple one - find the area's best beer hall! While every watering hall worth its tap has a fair share of loyal regulars, even the most diehard among them will still likely utter...albeit under the breath if the owner is around...that the Albany Pump Station lays claim to the crown. Situated in a former pump station used to run water from the Hudson River in the 1800's, this brewery and pub can rest easy in their moniker's legitimacy. Featuring some of the area's most diverse (and in some cases, highest in alcohol content!) beer offerings, the locals far and wide keep returning for such refreshing lagers as Poor Soldier Porter and Scottish Lite. Brewed on premises by a lone master of the craft, the Albany Pump Station is an ideal place for Albany-area apartment-ites to spend a night out with friends or family. The food is surprisingly varied in presentation, with the Pump Station menu offering everything from the typical (chicken tenders adorned with their in-house BBQ sauce) to the surprising (the calamari is a zesty hit). So whether you're out for a quick bite on your way home to the apartment, or making an evening out of sampling every beer at least once, the Albany Pump Station is a fun and exciting excursion for any beer-loving Albany-area apartment-ite.
