Art is an important part of any city, and Denver is no exception, so apartment-ites looking to check some gorgeous pieces of artistic expression have plenty of options. If you're looking for something bit different from all the Rembrandts and Van Goghs you'll find in many art houses around town, MCA Denver is guaranteed to give you something much different. MCA Denver is all about contemporary art, most of which is avant garde and shocking, so those looking for the traditional art museum need not apply. The MCA Denver is not for everyone. Much like the Museum of Modern Art and Guggenheim in New York, the works in this museum are original and outrageously new, so those used to more traditional museums are sure to be shocked. For those looking for something unique and interesting, that they won't find anywhere else in town, or practically in the nation. Original art lovers indeed should rejoice, for this is your Mecca. Though the work is strictly contemporary, they still use a wide array of media to portray their vision. Though you won't find any marble sculpture, many artists use 3-dimensional works to get their point across, from preserved animals, to found objects. Painting of course is well-represented, although the canvas and subjects are widely ranging, and quite different from what we're used to. Large murals, smaller works, and works on paper are scattered throughout, though you will find some normal canvases in the place, but usually the images presented upon them are graphic, bizarre or unusual. Another medium that you'll see quite a bit of is photography, though it's of course not your ordinary photography either. No matter what medium you're a fan of, you'll find something to intrigue and amaze you. With the museum just opening a little while ago, the best part of all is that the best is yet to come For apartment-ites tired of the usual art museum, MCA Denver gives you something new and different, and once you've stepped in the doors, you won't ever want to leave...at least, not until you've seen every piece in the collection
