What is the history of Ogden?
Originally named Fort Buenaventura, Ogden was eventually built as a transitional access point between the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific Railroads. Where are the nearby vacation spots?
Situated between the Great Salt Lake and the Rocky mountains, Ogden is almost a vacation getaway all in itself. However, if you feel like spending the weekend out on the town, Salt Lake City is only a half an hour’s drive away. In the other direction, Yellowstone National Park is about 5 hours north of Ogden and is considered by many to be America’s greatest national park.
