Write a ReviewReston is only a short commute from Washington, DC and as a planned community still maintains a small city feel thanks to height and other restrictions on buildings. The city boasts a thriving mall with over 50 shops and 35 dining opportunities, making it easy for residents to take care of errands in one place.
As a planned community, there are very strict rules about the types and sizes of buildings. This gives Reston a smaller feel than other cities located so close to major urban areas. It is a short trip to beautiful parks, and a quick drive or Metro ride to get to DC.
