What is the history of Naperville?

Joseph Naper and his family arrived in this region around 1831 and it was called Naper�s Settlement, by the year 1832, this area had a population of 100. For a short period of time, the individuals of the newly formed community had to leave because of an anticipated attack by the Sauk Indians. Fortunately, the assault did not occur, so the people returned to their community and began to develop the town. By 1887, Naper�s Settlement was now a village and boasted a population of 2000. The area was rustic until 1960 when merchants moved in and brought job opportunities and profits, making the town prosperous as it is today.

The temperatures in the spring is between the high 71 �F and the low of 27 �F, while the summer range is between high of 83 �F and low of 56 �F. In the fall of the year, you can experience temperatures between 75 �F and 30 �F and as for the wintertime, it averages between the high of 35 �F the low of 15 �F.

How do I get around town?

" Since it is a suburb, most people use cars to get to their destination. However, they have numerous parks and 13 miles of trail for walking and other outdoor activities. Naperville has an Amtrak station, which service approximately 53,000 people a year. They also have Pace, the town�s bus service, which provides wheelchair access and bicycle toting racks for convenience. With Chicago being less than 30 miles away, O�Hare and Midway Airports are available for catching international flight. Greyhound Lines and Trailways, also make stops in Naperville on their way to or from places including Chicago and Iowa. "

What is the Naperville commute like?

" There are many highways available as you commute in Naperville and visit nearby areas. One of the major roadways is the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway, part of it runs in proximity of the north side of Naperville. One of its exits Interstate 55 goes about five miles south of the city. You can come from the towns of Aurora and Oswego to Naperville by US Route 34. There are also many east-west and north-south roads to get you to the smaller surrounding towns as well as to the metropolis of Chicago. "

With its lofty trees and manicured yards, Maple Terrance is an excellent place to live.
