Most of the population relies on their own vehicles to get around town. The public transportation available in the city is a bus system with more than 30 routes, but it does not serve all neighborhoods. Walking or biking is an option when the weather is nice. Be aware there are not many bike lanes. There are two airports, the Toledo Express Airport and Toledo Executive Airport, but many residents choose to travel the 45 minutes to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport because there are more flights available. The Amtrak is another attractive option.

The average commute times in Toledo are about 20 minutes. Two interstates running north and south through town, the I-75 and the I-280, helps to move traffic along. Even though most people drive themselves, the rush hour traffic is generally reasonable. As with most cities, construction can cause some delays.

The Toledo Blade is the official newspaper for the area, and the UT Independent Collegian is the official newspaper of the University of Toledo. Toledo is a great place to live. Like any big city, it has all the modern amenities, but it also borders Lake Erie and is super close to Michigan and Indiana, making it easier to work in one of three states. Even better, the turnpike across northern Ohio comes through Toledo (super fast highway to get from there to the outskirts of Cleveland and down through Youngstown). Honestly, you can't beat the location.
