The addition of the Middlesex Canal in the early 1800s helped expansion across Cambridge continue, and the region thrived well into the 1900s as a base of industry for candy, steam engines and more.

Cambridge apartment residents can expect to enjoy warm summers and crisp, pleasant autumns. Winter can be typically 'New England' in scope, meaning snow is commonplace and can occasionally reach heavy accumulations. Springs tends to be rainy and mild.
How do I get around town?
The green and red lines of the area commuter rail both serve Cambridge, and bus service and even a trolley also continue to run throughout the city. A number of bicycling paths have been added in recent years, including numerous near the scenic Charles River, and Logan International Airport is the primary hub for flights. Ride-sharing services such as Lyft have also proven popular, and taxis are always an easy catch within the city.
What is the Cambridge commute like?
A number of major highways lead in and out of the city, making Cambridge apartments ideal spots for Boston commuters to call home. Route 2, the McGrath Highway and Route 16 all crisscross the region, and close to a dozen bridges lead in and out of greater Cambridge. Given the historic nature of many of the streets, traffic can get congested with ease, and yearly road construction does little to curb the delays.
