Write a ReviewDeep in the heart of one of Las Vegas's most famous natural wonders, the Red Rock Canyon, apartment-ites can find a number of activities to take in, but one the best places for apartment-ites to check out when visiting the Canyon is the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Underneath the gorgeous cliffs that make up the canyon, this beautiful 500-acre stretch of park has a number of fun and healthy activities that you can take in while enjoying the pure desert air, and taking in the splendid sights along the canyon. Beauty like this is hard to find outside of the strip, so this one location that is a must see for all Las Vegas visitors. The grounds on which this park lays are full of a rich history, and was owned by such big names as German actress Vera Krupp and millionaire Howard Hughes. For years is was used as a ranch, starting in the mid-1830s, and parts of it are still used today, breeding some of the most beautiful cows in the region, and parts of the ranch can still be seen today by those folk seeking to view a little piece of history. There are number of fun activities to take in when visiting the park, including checking out all the different historical sites in the area, studying up on all the wonders of nature to be found, including desert vegetation that's hard to find anywhere else, as well as plenty of room for walking, hiking or even biking. It's also a great place to just relax with a picnic, either with your family or with a larger group, and there are numerous activities that occur throughout the year. The Red Rock Canyon is full of opportunities to have fun, but one place Las Vegas apartment-ites should make a point to check out is the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, where the rich history of Nevada ranching comes alive in vivid detail, against one of the most beautiful backdrops in the nation.
