Always one to believe that education is a lifelong endeavor (or something like that), you've taken recently to reading the classics. You know, trading in those King and Koontz novels for Hemmingway and Poe. And while mysteries have always been your fave, after several hours of library-worthy silence in your apartment you start to crave a change of ambiance. There has to be somewhere you can read Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap while drinking a beer, right? Elementary, my dear Watson, simply head to Sherlock's. Designed with the legendary detective's study in mind, Sherlock's is the perfect abode in which to settle in for an afternoon of literary delight. Overstuffed leather chairs fill the venue's corners, while traditional dining tables occupy the center of the sizeable space. The tap selections can be a bit mysterious in their own right (hard cider on draft?), and on the weekends the crowd noise can definitely overshadow the occasional live music blasting away, so a pre-happy hour visit is your best bet for some downtime atmosphere. The food is passable but nothing to write home about (this is English fare, after all), with the usual pub grub (nachos, chicken tenders, burgers) laying claim to the majority of the menu. Still, the interior ambiance is worth a gander, and the friendly and flirtatious bartenders might even make you forget whodunit altogether.
