The K-10 state highway offers a great mode of transportation throughout Lawrence. Its a 38 mile stretch of highway that's been around since 1929. Lawrence is home to a great newspaper that is published daily, called the Lawrence Journal-World. The University of Kansas also publishes a student newspaper that you can feel free to subscribe to. As for the radio, Lawrence is very close to Topeka and Kansas City, so you can tune into radio stations from both with great reception.
