Write a ReviewThe city of Denver is a great combination of rich history and majestic beauty, but apartment-ites would have to run around most of the day if you want to take in all the historical hot-spots, and hit all the beautiful landscapes the mile-high city has to offer. Thankfully, Four Mile Historical Park combines the two into a fun and exciting trip out, where you can take in the beauty of the Colorado countryside, while also learning your fair share about the fascinating history of this fine state. With guided tours, special events, even hay rides, there is something for everyone at this locale, just a short trip from downtown Denver. The place is rich in Denver history, including having one of the oldest houses in Denver, the Four Mile House, which for years served as a common stopping point for people on the road, acting as an Inn and tavern for those in need of some relaxation. It's also the locale for many fun events that teach children about the history of the mountain state, including hay rides, covered wagon rides, and pioneer dancing. The kids will have so much fun, they'll completely forget they're learning anything. They also have a terrific museum within with several pieces of Colorado history on display. With the change of the season, there are a number of different events that take place in the park. When Halloween rolls around, take in their Pumpkin Patch, a fun event for everyone, with games, arts and crafts, even horse-drawn carriage rides around the park. They also fun events around Christmas, where you can get a one-horsed open sleigh ride through the beautiful snow-covered pines, while your children have a great time meeting St. Nicolas, while making Gingerbread Houses and popcorn strings to decorate the tree. No matter what holiday you decide to come down to the park, there will be tons of fun and exciting events taking place for your enjoyment. If apartment-ites are looking to learn a lot about Colorado history, while also taking in the beauty of the Denver mountains, need only take the short drive out to Four Mile Historical Park, a place where history and fun combine to create one of the most fantastic experiences in town.
