The regional airport is located just 7 miles from town and currently has 7 airlines that fly in regularly.

The main interstates in Shreveport are I-20 and 1-49. Shreveport is a major city with many people commuting for work, so you should expect delays around the AM and PM rush.

If you would like to stay tuned to the local news in the area, turn on KTBS 3 or KSLA 12 news channels. If you prefer the radio tune into the local station KDAQ on 89.9 FM. The Shreveport Times is the newspaper to read about the local happenings.

One of the most notable festivals is the Red River Revel which has been taking place for over 41 years and is named one of the top ten events in Louisiana. The festival lasts for 7 days in October and there you will find artists from all across the country as well as great music and food.

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

If you are looking for a weekend getaway, there are a few great options just a few hours away. Hot Springs, Arkansas is a great location in the mountains with a ton of activities such as hiking, biking, fishing and horseback riding. If you are looking for something a bit more relaxing, try the Cypress Bend Resort also located just a few hours away.

Where is the best place to move in Shreveport?

There are plenty of great neighborhoods to choose from when looking at Shreveport apartments depending on your personal preferences. The Downtown Waterfront is a great spot if you love a city feel. You will have great apartment options in the high rises and will be surrounded by plenty of options for restaurants and entertainment. Located in the South Central portion you will find the wonderful Lynbrook neighborhood. Here you will be able to find some wonderful affordable apartments . The Lynbrook neighborhood is a short drive to the St. Vincent mall to cover all your shopping needs. If you are looking for a neighborhood that is all about a convenient location, then you should consider The Hyde Park, Brookwood, Southern Hills neighborhood. It is just 12 miles from the center of Shreveport and is accessible from all the major roadways.
