But why add to your downtrodden emotional state by being lonely when you can commiserate with the best of them at Blind Willie's? The consummate blues bar, Blind Willie's has been leading the scene since opening its doors in 1986. Everyone from John Hammond to Chick "Stoop Down Man" Willis has graced Willie's stage, and even on 'off' nights the local talent is second to none. Named after Blind Willie McTell (who learned to play via brail), the establishment's legendary alligator logo has become a staple seen all over the globe. Not content to simply provide a cross-section of live acts covering the genre, Blind Willie's menu is also a testament to the blues. Cuisine is divided according to the holy trinity (Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans) and includes such unique fare as alligator bites (!), sweet potato fries and homemade jambalaya. Even the frugal can take heart - with most items falling under eight bucks, the expense at Blind Willie's is nothing to cry over.
