Write a ReviewAs many Houston apartment-ites known, there are plenty of good pubs around Houston to spend your time in, but what's hard to find these days is a pub that actually has that authentic English feel. Many try, but one of the only places that gets it pitch perfect is The Red Lion Pub, one joint where the atmosphere, food, and drink come together to form one of the most amazing pub experiences you're likely to have in the Big H. The first thing you'll notice about Red Lion is its classy, yet casual feel. The walls are wood-paneled, adorned with brass accents, and all the seats and booths are comfortable plush leather. If you're looking to enjoy a pleasant, sunny day outside, or a beautiful Houston night under the starry sky, there's plenty of space outside on the pub's spacious patio. With a just a few steps you'll find that the place oozes a great combination of comfort and sophistication. Red Lion may get a lot of attention for its authentic ambiance, but what really keeps the customers coming back in droves is the delicious food. Voted 'Best Bar Food' in Houston by Citysearch in 2004, 2005 and 2007, the Red Lion has a tradition of serving Houstonians some of the best food in town. They serve up some of the greatest renditions of Britain's star dishes, such as Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, and Shepherd's Pie, but still have an able hand for other items such as burgers (which are only $5 every Monday night), pastas, pizzas even quesadillas. Just one bite of their delicious food and you'll be wanting to make a daily trek down to this top-rated eatery. Delicious food and a good environment may get a pub so far, but what really makes it excellent is its selections of alcohol, and The Red Lion delivers what the Houstonites are looking for. It has one of the finest selection of beers in town, and was voted to have the "Best Beer Selection" by Citysearch. Whether you want German, British, Belgian or local, Red Lion will have you want you want, cold, and probably on tap. It's the best place to come and enjoy a nice pint with friends or family. If beer's not your bag, there's also a well-thought-out selection if wines, or plenty of other spirits to choose from. Many places may call themselves pubs, but The Red Lion Pub is one of the only ones that lives up to that name fully. Houston Apartment residents need not look far for a great evening out in a real British atmosphere, it's only a short distance away at the Red Lion Pub.
