For apartment-ites who've just moved to a great Charlotte apartment, finding a good restaurant is a hard task, even more so if you're into something as seemingly rare as sushi. Charlotte has a pretty wide variety of sushi establishments, but the best of the bunch has to be Nikko Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar. Located in the Dilworth neighborhood on South Blvd, this eatery offers an innovative menu in a relaxed, intimate setting. Their maki rolls are the most creative, including a California Eel Roll and the restaurant's signature Charlotte Roll (tempura white fish, lettuce and garlic sauce), and prices are all across the board: $3 will get you a Tamago (egg) roll, but the Alex Roll (tuna, aioli, avo & cuke) will set you back just under $15. Aside from the sushi, there's also a dinner menu offering wasabi shumai (pork dumplings), tofu teriyaki and traditional bento boxes, which include sushi, soup, salad, and rice. Veggie apartment-ites sadly have little to choose from, but the miso soup is made without fish stock, and the vegetable tempura or vegetable fried rice are also good options. A variety of domestic and imported draft and bottled beers are available alongside the extensive sake and wine menu, but if you have room don't leave without trying either the green tea or red bean ice cream.
